PLAYER PERFORMANCE WARM UP UP PROTOCOL
Warm up is an intergal part of gameday or practice preparation. It is a period of time for players to bring their bodies and minds to the required state in order to enable peak performance. All GPS warm ups will be structured as follows: PHASE 1. Increasing heart rate Jogging Sprints Lateral shuffling Backwards movements PHASE 2. Dynamic stretching Leg muscles Upper body and core PHASE 3. Ball Work/Tactical & Technical Work (6v6/8v8/11v11) Unopposed Opposed Team units PHASE 4. High intensity exercise prior to kick off Warm up will be led by team captains however, it is imperative that all players within the team know the team warm up routine and the benefits of every exercise that is performed.
