“It’s been an exciting and educational year. We were able to implement a number of things, including the monthly conference, two trips to the U.S. with coach training, the first Residential Cup in Maine, the expansion of the ID program, and the first FCB Tour in Munich with two GPS teams.” KEY EVENTS 2015 JANUARY Affiliate program launched at NSCAA Convention in Philadelphia. APRIL First ID programs launched in 11 States targeting U11 and U12 Boys and Girls. MAY 9 Inner-City players GPS players travel to Munich to participate in FC Bayern Youth Cup. JUNE FC Bayern Coaches visit South Carolina and Maine First ever FC Bayern Residential Camp held for top players identified from ID Program. JULY Top ID Players, Blake Pope and Samy Kolby identified at Residential camp, travel to Munich and train with FC Bayern U12 team. Female players Olivia White and Bella Roppolo travel in August to work with female coaches. AUGUST 35 players travel to Munich as part of the first ever FC Bayern tour. Players train with FC Bayern coaches and play against FC Bayern teams as well as attending the Audi Cup at the Allianz Arena. NOVEMBER Second Technical visit takes place with 18 Directors of Coaching from GPS and affiliate clubs visiting Saebner Strasse and taking part in workshops with FC Bayern coaching staff. DECEMBER FC Bayern coaches return to US to evaluate ID players and provide coach education in Florida, New Jersey and California.

In November of 2014, FC Bayern Munich and Global Premier Soccer (GPS) announced an extensive partnership that will bring the knowledge and experience of FC Bayern’s famed Youth Academy to the United States. The grassroots initiative was a major step in FC Bayern’s commitment to engage the wider US soccer community. As part of the partnership, FC Bayern makes available to GPS its youth development knowledge, including its coaches, curriculum, official uniforms and the principles and culture that guide its world-renowned academy.

The cooperation is an ongoing mutual exchange of knowledge with GPS officials traveling to Munich to observe and study FC Bayern’s Youth Academy and FCB coaches visiting GPS’s facilities and teams with the aim of improving and aligning coaching methods.

The FC Bayern ID Program is conducted by GPS and Affiliate clubs in the spring and fall for 6 weeks – 1 training session / ID event per week. The program targets the highest level U11 and U12 players in each affiliate’s territory.
The Affiliate program, operated by GPS provides forward thinking organizations the opportunity to access the FC Bayern brand through the club’s partnership with GPS.
The strongest players (as per FC Bayern criteria) will be invited to the FC Bayern ID National camp to be held annually in late June/early July. In 2015 this was held at the University of New England in Maine.

CURRENT AFFILIATION CLUBS
Affiliate clubs are selected on a limited basis, targeting organizations that are open to aligning themselves with the philosophy and methodology of the FC Bayern Junior Program (Academy). Eligible clubs must have a minimum of 500 players, a full time DOC, demonstrated administrative capabilities and an existing infrastructure for the delivery of curriculum and alignment of systems and style of play. TESTIMONIALS
The FC Bayern staff will select the best players from the National Camp to go to FC Bayern on trial in the summer. In July 2015 Blake Pope, Sammy Kolby, Olivia White and Bella Roppolo made the trip to Germany. Currently there are FC Bayern ID programs running in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida and California

BENEFITS OF BEING AN AFFILIATE CLUB TWICE ANNUAL COACH VISITS FC Bayern Coaches will visit the US over the first two weeks of December, the last two weeks in June and the first week in July every year. MONTHLY CONFERENCE CALL Affiliate DOCs will participate in a monthly conference call with FC Bayern Academy. CURRICULUM ACCESS FC Bayern provide Affiliates with access to their existing and developing curriculum – content sent bi-weekly. TECHNICAL VISIT Annual visit for 2 staff members to FC Bayern HQ. UNIFORMS Approval to use FC Bayern jersey for competitive players as game-day jersey (purchased by club or player). ID PROGRAM Approval to host an official FC Bayern ID program with fast access to send a player on trial to FC Bayern in Germany.
