traído pelo nome, o poeta Olavo Bilac rabiscou eternos versos no soneto que dizia: “Vive dentro de mim, como num rio… Uma linda mulher, esquiva e rara”. Iara é o nome do poema. Com todo o sentimento que o movimento literário carrega, transportado para o presente, há uma Iara tão bela quanto os versos do século XIX. Ela se chama Iara Maria Resende Coelho Jereissati. Uma mulher que se tornou referência da alta moda na América Latina, a imagem dos shoppings brasileiros do grupo Iguatemi. Iara é uma espécie de embaixadora do luxo. Vive entre São Paulo e Miami, mesclando o approach urbano da terra da garoa com o clima praiano da cidade mais famosa da Flórida. Nascida no município de Luz, no interior de Minas Gerais, deixou a pequena cidade mineira rumo à capital de Belo Horizonte. Enquanto esperava o início das aulas na faculdade de Direito, foi convidada para participar de um concurso de beleza. E venceu. Assim teve início sua carreira no universo da beleza, que lhe concedeu o título de Miss Minas Gerais e o segundo lugar no Miss Brasil 2004, cujo o terceiro posto ficou com a hoje atriz Grazi Massafera.

Enthranced by a woman’s name, poet Olavo Bilac wrote these eternal verses: “Lives within me, as in a river... A beautiful woman, elusive and rare”. The name in question was Iara. With all romantism that this literary movement entails, today we have a Iara as beautiful as the one depicted on these 19th century verses. Her name is Iara Maria Resende Coelho Jereissati, a woman who became a high-fashion icon in Latin America, and is currently the poster girl of the Iguatemi conglomerate. Iara is something of a luxury ambassador. She lives between Sao Paulo and Miami, merging the urban approach from the damp city with the sunny vibe of Florida’s most famous city. Born in the little town of Luz, in the Minas Gerais countryside, Iara left the little town to go to Belo Horizonte. While she was waiting for her law school classes to begin, she was invited to take part in a beauty pageant. And she won. That was the beginning of her career in the beauty world, which gave her the title of Miss Minas Gerais and the second place in Miss Brazil 2004, just one position higher than now-actress Grazi Massafera, who ended up in third place.
