ou mentioned needing help with insurance benefit verification in our employee survey—a very reproducible and scalable position that can improve the bottom line of your practice and also contribute to the overall GPS platform. Up to this point, GPS has been able to support insurance-related functions for some of our practices who were on Open Dental. We are now adding team members who are fluent in Dentrix and plan to begin opening up more support services to those offices as well. As always, GPS supports when and where it makes sense. We don’t want to disrupt the operations at our most efficient clinical settings, or add duplicative positions, but we are putting plans together to be able to help both short-term and long-term as needed. There will be more details as our plan unfolds, with the first step being taking inventory of our existing staff and current technology. If you feel that you can bring value to the project, we would love your feedback. Click here! We can’t wait to hear your ideas! Speaking of support, transition, and new opportunities, GPS is currently hiring for an Assistant Transitions Coordinator to support the onboarding of our ever growing number of partner practices. Change is hard, and scary, and

you know that all too well. Why not use your experience for the better. Breanna Couch has been leading our Transitions team and in coordination with several operations leaders, has recreated our Onboarding “Journey.” The goal being: 1) Little staff attrition 2) Informed and educated leaders at the practice level who feel supported and know what to expect at each phase of the project, and... 3) Sellers that feel validated in their choice of partnering with GPS. Britney Long: Executive VP of Marketing Chandler Werr: Facilities Coordinator We are excited to announce the promotion of two of our key Support Team members. Britney Long and Chandler Werr. Britney Long has been an integral part of our Marketing team since its inception in 2018. Actually, she was GPS’ first full-time marketing hire. As our organization has grown, Britney has built a team of her own and formed relationships with outside vendors who share our mission and values. Britney is passionate about serving others and is committed to delivering informed, media-savvy advertising. Britney aims to be an extension of our dental practices, producing results that directly and positively impact our employees that care for our patients. Congratulations Britney, our Executive Vice President of Marketing, we are honored to have you on our team. Many of you met Chandler Werr, previously our Patient Experience Coordinator. In fact, she was likely the first person you were introduced to when partnering with GPS. Chandler served a vital role in the progress of our company and gained many skills along the way. Chandler’s role was recently changed to Facilities Coordinator. With her project manager hat and general excitement for organized chaos, Chandler enjoys bringing life to and coordinating our ever-growing list of projects. There will be more communication in the short term about how Chandler’s new role affects you and where she plugs in to assist with short and long term repair and renovation projects. We couldn’t think of anyone more suited for this position and are so proud of Chandler’s accomplishments.

Tips & Tricks While the vacuum is running and the valves are closed, apply two to three drops of 3n1 silicone lube in each of the valves. This will loosen any stuck valves and help maintain a smoother operation. At the end of the day, raise all chair bases and backs to their fullest. This will allow the cleaning staff ease of access and will also allow the hydraulic fluids to lube the cylinder seals preventing leaky cylinders.

About the Presenter

Dr. Cornelius received his DDS degree from Northwestern University, his MBA degree from the University of Utah, and his MPH degree from The University of Pittsburgh. After practicing general dentistry for 15 years, Dr. Cornelius completed a three-year residency in anesthesiology at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomat of both the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He is also a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. Currently, Dr. Cornelius is the Medical Director of The Dental Surgery Center of Columbus and the Vice President of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists.
