Aashraya - Sheltering the misfortuned is a juvenile correctional facility aimed at rehabilitating young juvenile offenders who face multiple hardships through every phase of their lives and relieving them of their mental hardships to develop them into self-sustaining adults in their future. To aid them with their development, multiple skill development centers with recreational facilities have been introduced, and highlighting the importance of landscape and socio-interactive spaces with levels and colour theory’s implications on the psyche were the main characteristics of design. Emphasizing the need for open spaces while being secure enough to be monitored when necessary had to be achieved to ensure the main goal. A central landscape with interactive landscaping and zen gardens to help with spiritual development was characterized to be a part of the project.
