Oregon: The Dalles

Description of Work: Colour and texture inspire my weaving. I design and weave towels, table runners and scarves using cotton, alpaca, silk, bamboo and other natural fibers. I have been part of the Gorge Artists Open Studios Tour since its beginning 9 years ago. My interest in textiles began as a child in Nova Scotia watching my French-Canadian grandmother with her needlework tools. I have been weaving for over 30 years and am a firm believer that something as “ordinary” as a towel can be beautiful, a delight to use and improve with age.
