Description of Work: Barbara Murphy’s light filled, impressionistic Gorge paintings are characterized by innovative use of color and strong design. Her art captures a unique landscape, and describes a moment in time. Through her paintings, the viewer is treated to a memory of that special place in the Gorge she conveys on canvas. An avid mountain biker and kiter, her ideas evolve during her extensive time immersed in the Gorge landscape.

Medium: Bronze and ceramic sculpture

Directions: Drive to White Salmon and proceed through downtown on Jewett Blvd. heading west. Turn left on Garfield (just past the White Salmon Inn) and stay to the right on to Edgecliff Drive. Last house on the right.

Parking: Please park if possible in the gravel areas around my house. Try not to block anyone. If full, you can park along Edgecliff in the area that runs east to west.

Description of Work: I create handbuilt clay narrative sculptures that either remain in clay with an assortment of fired and cold finishes or they are taken to bronze in limited editions. I will also be showing pottery and jewelry.

Directions: From I-84, exit 64, turn towards river and cross Hood River Bridge into WA, 1.0 mi. Turn left onto WA-14 W. Take the 1st right onto Dock Grade Rd, 0.8 mi. (From WA side westbound: pass the Hood River bridge, then take 1st right onto Dock Grade Rd., 0.2 mi.) Turn left onto E Jewett Blvd, 0.4 mi. Turn right onto N Main Ave (Clock tower in center of town), 0.9 mi. Slight right onto Snowden Rd, 0.1 mile later, stay right at triangle, 4.6 mi. Turn left onto Osborne Rd (just past “Cherry Lane Fire House” and intersection with Bates Rd) follow Snowden Rd around curve to left, do not go on Bates Rd., pass house with stuff out front, then we are first road on left, can see house from turn)

Description of Work: I have been collecting and researching turquoise gems this past year. So I will have a new collection of jewelry using the turquoise I have cut or collected. The stones will be paired with both copper and sterling.

Directions: From WA-14/Lewis and Clark Hwy., turn onto WA-141 Alt/Washington 141. Turn left onto WA-141 N (19 miles). Take slight right at service station fork onto Mt Adams Rd (signs for Sno-Parks/Recreation Area). Turn right onto Sunnyside Rd. Take the second left (Airport Rd. is the first left) onto Dairy Rd. (look for yellow mailbox). Go past the first house on left and park on long driveway after carport. Walk through yard toward the river. Studio has a porch, cedar siding, and green trim.

Parking: In the long driveway on left just west of the carport and off the main road.

Description of Work: Cozy studio nestled along the White Salmon River brimming with colorful watercolor paintings and illustrations inspired by nature, dreams, and stories available in a range of sizes as framed original pieces and pigment ink prints.
