WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT SLOW JUICING? Slow juicing technology differs from the conventional centrifugal juicing in terms of speed and method by which the juice is extracted from the fruit and vegetable cells. Conventional juicers spin the blade at a high speed (1.500 to 2.500 revolutions per minute) to cut the cell walls and release the juice from them. Vertical motion of the slow juicer auger (at 70 rpm) crushes the fruit and vegetables and then separates the extracted juice and the pulp. As a result, there are fewer air bubbles in the juice; the juice is silkier; and juicing temperature is lower which allows the juice to retain more vitamins and enzymes.

Slow rotation of the auger in the press juicer does not cause the juice temperature to rise, which in turn would cause the enzymes and vitamins to disintegrate. At high temperature, both vitamins and enzymes are destroyed (such as lemon juice in hot team). In the process of juicing, conventional juicers tend to destroy a part of the vitamins and enzymes that are the most sensitive to high temperature.

Slow pressed juice can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 72 hours. You do not have to worry about it losing its nutrients, vitamins, or enzymes. On the other hand, it is recommended to drink the juice extracted with conventional juicers immediately to prevent oxidation.

Nuts

Any fruit, even the very ripe one, can be juiced in the press juicer. Ripe fruit still contains a lot of vitamins and minerals; moreover, the juice will be sweeter. Before juicing, wash the fruit and cut it into smaller pieces.

Nuts can also be added to your favourite potions. Before juicing, cut them into smaller pieces. If you soak the nuts overnight, they will be ready for juicing without any other ingredients the next day. Almond milk, for example, is a great way to start your day!

Leafy greens

Seeds, stones, and peel

The juicer can juice all sorts of vegetables, including leafy greens. Feel free to add sprigs of parsley or balm mint – you may be surprised by the aroma. Harder vegetables, like ginger, should be cut into smaller pieces before juicing.

Extract the nutrients from seeds, stones, and peel of your fruits and veggies. This means you do not have to peel the ingredients, which in turn will save time when juicing.

Pulp regulator The pulp resulting from the juicing process is collected in a separate container. The amount of the pulp can be set by the user by moving a lever on the font side of the juicer. Enjoy a glass silky smooth juice, or add bits of fruit and vegetables to it for some texture. Do not discard the pulp before trying it in other dishes such as soups, sauces, desserts etc.

Silent operation Slow juicing also means silent operation without high speeds resulting in more noise. The very appliance design with a long feeding tube also contributes to noise suppression.

No drip cap The juice container is already full, yet there are still fruit and vegetables in the juicer. What to do? You do not have to switch off the juicer. Instead, just push the cap into the juice funnel. The juice will be collected in the internal container while you fill the glasses of the most eager tasters and replace the container.

Strainer with fine mesh All ingredients being juiced are filtered through a fine mesh strainer that allows minimal amount of pulp to pass while retaining all the nutrients in the juice. The strainer is easy to wash under running water and clean with the supplied brush.

Despite the slow auger rotation, the motor has to be powerful enough to crush harder bits of fruit and vegetables. Tested at maximum loads, the 200-watt motor has proven the optimal heart of the slow juicer.

A high-capacity appliance means a tedious cleaning process? Not necessarily. After use, slowly pour one litre of lukewarm water into the feeding tube while the appliance is operating. On its way to the juice container, the water will thoroughly clean any fruit and vegetable residues. After use, rinse the filter and clean it with the supplied brush.

INGREDIENTS FOR 1 GLASS OF JUICE: • large bunch of spinach • 2 medium sized cucumbers • 2 stalks celery • 1 teaspoon algae powder • 1/2 teaspoon maca powder

METHOD: 1. Wash the spinach leaves. 2. Wash the cucumbers and celery stalks and cut them into oblong medium thick slices. 3. Press the ingredients in the juicer. 4. Pour into a glass and stir in the algae and maca powder.

METHOD: 1. Wash the red beets and cut them into larger chunks. 2. Wash the carrots and cut them into oblong medium thick slices. 3. Press the ingredients in the juicer. 4. Pour into a glass and add the collagen powder.

5. Stir and garnish with a carrot curl.

INGREDIENTS FOR 1 GLASS OF JUICE: • 2 oranges • 1 persimmon (kaki) • Cube of ginger (peeled) • pinch of grated lemon zest

METHOD: 1. Cut the persimmon and oranges into larger chunks. 2. Peel the ginger and grate the lemon zest. 3. Press the vegetables and the cube of ginger in the juicer.

INGREDIENTS FOR 1 GLASS OF JUICE: • 1 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight • 3 cups water • a pinch vanilla powder

METHOD: 1. Soak the raw almonds overnight in a large amount of water. 2. Discard the water and wash the almonds. 3. Press the almonds in the juicer by slowly adding three cups of water.

4. Pour into a glass and spice with a pinch of vanilla powder. 5. Serve with cookies.

METHOD: 1. Carve out the middle (the meat) from the coconut. 2. Peel the pineapple and cut it into larger chunks. 3. Cut the orange. 4. Have the washed bunch of fresh mint ready on the counter. 5. Press the juice in the juicer. Add the mint at the end.
