HIGH PEAKS AREA Birch Bark Alley: Slip into this pass off of the Cloud trail and you’ll likely find our resident Woodchuck.
BURNT RIDGE MOUNTAIN Abenaki Glades: Get away from the masses in these long, quiet woods named after an original Native American tribe. Barkeater Glades: Take this glade from the top of the Burnt Ridge Quad to Pipeline Bridge along 3,700 feet of backcountry fun! Nice and easy on top, steep and rugged on the bottom. Boreas Glades: The long, wooded landscape keeps you honest with tight trees, a fun handful of steep spots, and plenty of opportunity to work on your technique.
Darby Woods: Our staff’s pick – it’s a fun escape into the meat of the High Peaks forest! Short, steep, and usually deep! Mineshaft Glades: A hop, skip, and a jump to spice up your summit lap. Dark Side Glades: When you’re ready to show off your stuff to the experts on the High Peaks Chair, they’ll cheer you on as you rip it up! Reliable powder pockets, as long as you find them first. MacIntyre Glades: This tight glade with steep pitch opens up at one stop to a birch-filled haven.
Cirque Glades: Named for its remarkable geology, this glade delivers about every grade of terrain along with noteworthy scenery. It’s the longest glade in the East so be ready when you venture in! Sagamore Glades: Saga-MORE GORE. You decide if you want to connect to Cirque or exit toward the Gully – either way, the woods just keep going!
THE NORTH SIDE Rabbit Run: This kid-friendly woods tour gives the expansive North Side even more fun and family-oriented terrain variety. Tahawus Glades: Grab these exquisite glades for some smooth maneuvering with expansive forest views throughout.
SKI BOWL AREA Half n’ Half: This quickie glade is a fun Ski Bowl shortcut. JJ’s Glades: Wide spaces between the trees makes this glade laid-back and approachable, just like the beloved patroller they were named for. Ski Bowl Glades: Get ready for a workout. This long venture is steep and gnarly to get going, then eventually settles into a collection of rugged hardwoods. If you find a chance to bail out, you’ll still be in expert territory!
