“The wide range of skills that I acquired at Gordon have prepared me exceptionally to be a major asset in my career. Blending spirituality with the curriculum has allowed me to emerge with not only industry knowledge and experience but also some of the most highly sought-after attributes in the working world today: kindness, honesty, resolve and a deep care for the work that I perform.”

HONORS AND SCHOLARS

Like many opportunities at Gordon, the honors and scholars programs are not a one-size-fits-all product. Here you’ll find an array of programs designed to enrich the academic experience in ways that best support your passions and goals.

Scholars programs all require a separate application as part of the admissions process. They are cohort-based, four-year programs—some of which have scholarships attached—representing a feature of the life, faithfulness and character of our founder, Rev. Dr. A. J. Gordon.

» A. J. Gordon Scholars: Curiosity, initiative and character of leadership

» Clarendon Scholars: Leadership in an urban context

» Dokes Scholars: Preparation for pastoral ministry

» Global Scholars: Creative leadership for global engagement

» Department of Music Leadership Award and Music Education Honors Award: Exceptional musical abilities, potential for musical leadership and service

» Departmental Honors: Research and thesis-based deep learning within a chosen discipline
