It’s been a very busy quarter for all of us and as I was traveling for business, I had an opportunity to connect and fellowship with Skål clubs of South Africa and Pretoria and Skål club of Berlin.

If you follow my social media pages you will notice my excitement when I met with Berlin President Moritz Reise. First thing i noted is his sense of fashion then his soft spoken nature. It was very easy to connect with President Moritz despite our age difference. Why mention age you might ask? In my eyes President Moritz is the face of future Skål.

As a club we took on the mandate to grow the young Skål during our 2023 Annual General meeting. Encountering a young President in leadership gave me hope that we will achieve our goal of embracing and building the youth to be able to carry on the work that we do as Skål.

I also wish to encourage members to join other clubs for their fellowship whenever you travel.

It’s been a great season for me and I wish you happiness, friendship, good health & long life.

TRIBUTES

Skalleagues, friends,

In this 2nd edition of our SKAL International Nairobi newsletter, I would like to pay tribute to our beloved skalleagues Mrs Neema Poppat & Mr Hussein Jiwani.

I cannot express the depth of sorrow we feel at the loss of such remarkable individuals whose kindness, warmth and love touched each one of us. Their memories will be cherished in our hearts as they have left behind a legacy of love that will endure through the passage of time.

Though they are no longer with us, we find solace in the memories we shared, the laughter we enjoyed and the Skål fellowship that bound us with them .

As we navigate this journey of grief, let us find comfort in each others embrace knowing that we are not alone in our sorrow. Together we will honor their memories and carry on with their legacy of love, kindness and compassion.

May the souls of skalleague Neema Poppat and Skalleague Hussein Jiwani rest in peace. Skal.
