Celebration Of Christmas And End Of Year Party 2023

The GOPIO Triolet North Mauritius celebrated Christmas, a cherished tradition and organised an end-of-year party at the seat in Triolet Village on the 19th of December 2023. The prominent GOPIO Triolet North families came together to sing, dance, play indoor games, and exchange festive gifts and pleasant things amidst and around the well-decorated Christmas tree. And above all, to show our respect and gratitude for working together for 2023. As we all know, Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ; however, in Mauritius, people from all ethnic groups celebrate it, as the festival is also known as sharing gifts with family and friends.

Mrs Kritilata Ram, the GOPIO International Coordinator for Francophone Regions, pointed out the importance of celebrating this magical festival as all the members get together and talk to each other to express their gratitude and love and share a delicious barbecue organised for that occasion. She also said that the end-of-year party is about sharing joy and happiness. She also remembered those times of excitement during her childhood, seeing kids opening gifts with overwhelming pleasure. She expressed her sincere gratitude to all the members for actively participating and engaging in different activities throughout 2023. She also thanked the Executive Committee for being the driving force behind all the success and for the constant support given to GOPIO Triolet North to reach new heights.
