About Yourself
I am 53 years of age. Married with three teenage daughters. I love Dad jokes and barrack for Hawthorn. I like keeping physically fit which I find also benefits your mental health. I joined Victoria Police back in 1995 and I have been stationed at Horsham since 1998. It’s going to sound “corny” but it was someting I had always wanted to do since I was young as I wanted to do something to help people.
Also, I don’t like the sight of blood and have a strong aversion to fire and smoking so that cut out doctor, paramedic/ambulance o cer and fire fighter as options.
Why you wanted to be a PALO
I have interacted with members of the local Aboriginal Community during the time that I have been at Horsham, including as the local Aborignal Community Justice Panel member and the Horsham Police Station Aboriginal Community Liaison Oficcer. I would like to contribute towards fostering improved relationships between police and members of the Indigenous Community for the benefit of both groups.

Community HUB in Progress
Our new Community HUB is making incredible strides, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Over the past week, several sta members and community members were lucky enough to get a sneak peek during a quick visit. The space is shaping up beautifully, and the excitement is contagious. It won’t be long before we can all come together and enjoy this amazing new facility!

The Koori Way
Celebrating Our Representation at the Oceania Tobacco Control Conference 2024! We’re excited to share that Hannah Britten-Cook represented Goolum Goolum as part of the Koori Way team at the Oceania Tobacco Control Conference 2024, held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in October. With this year’s theme, “Reignite the Fight,” the conference united leaders and advocates dedicated to tackling tobacco use across Oceania. Hannah engaged with fellow advocates, shared insights, and promoted strategies aimed at building healthier, smoke-free communities. We’re incredibly proud to have Goolum Goolum’s voice in this vital conversation. Thank you, Hannah, for your dedication and impactful representation!

"Got a lot Going On? There's No Shame in having a YARN"
If you have noticed a change in yourself or a friend, it can be helpful to have a yarn with your mum, dad, aunt, uncle, sister or brother. The count down for Christmas has begun! This can be a wonderful opportunity to gather with family to celebrate the festive season. It is important to remember that Christmas can be a challenging time for many and the holiday season can cause a significant amount of stress and emotional strain. It's important to acknowledge that it is OK if you feel overwheled in the lead up to christmas.
Here are some simple strategies to help you stay calm and enjoy the festive season; Plan ahead to avoid last minute gi buying and cooking. Set a budget to avoid financial stress
Prioritise taks and delegate jobs to other family members
Limit social events: its ok to say no
Practice self-care and take time for yourself: with some regular exercise, healthy eating and good sleep. Seek support if you're feeling overwhelmed.
