• Monthly legal clinics with Gulfcoast Legal Services will take place the first Monday of each month for community residents and Goodwill Team Members at the Corporate Campus CRC.

• We are partnering with Free Book Fairs by donating 100 children’s books each month for children attending Title 1 schools in Sarasota.

Longboat Key Bookstore

The shelves are in place, and our teams are working tirelessly to create the stunning collection that will fill this beautiful new bookstore! We’re thrilled to announce our grand opening on December 18th at Longboat Key. Stay tuned—more exciting updates are coming soon!

TLC Holiday Meeting

We had the pleasure of spending time with our TLCs at our bi-monthly TLC meeting, as they reflected on this past year and what they’re most thankful for this holiday season. Below, you’ll see Donna ready to spread holiday cheer with a well-deserved Thanksgiving meal!

Leadership Development

GIMI wrapped up the 5th cohort in the Operations LDP3 program. This program works through peer learning, feedback, and practical tools where participants gain actionable strategies to drive both personal and organizational success. Congrats to Russell Phillips, Chris Kawcak, Keera Herbst, and Donna Evans.

GIPB OPERATIONS

New Goodwill Bookstore:

•Goodwill Industries of the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast opened their first-ever bookstore on Florida’s east coast located in Stuart, FL.

•The store spans 8,170 square feet and offers thousands of gently-used books across all genres, at unbeatable prices.

•Features a bright, welcoming space with natural light and a beautifully organized layout for book lovers, it also includes an Attended Donation Center for members of the community to conveniently drop off donations.

Leadership Development:

• Congratulations to Abra Joseph, Kathy Hardison, Sean Freda, & Nicholas Picard who successfully completed the 5th cohort of LDP3. This 12-week experience is a robust, reflective, and action-oriented leadership development program that leverages peer learning, feedback, and practical tools to drive personal and organizational growth. The experience is highly personalized, with a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, accountability, and the ongoing nature of leadership development.

TALENT Spotlight

GIMI Update

Dino Volpi

We’re pleased to announce that Dino will be joining the GIPB Team in the role of Regional Director. Congratulations, Dino!

November - we opened 62 positions, including 37 replacement roles and 25 additional roles. We currently have 37 vacant positions.

We welcomed 44 new team members, an increase from the previous month; however, 2 of these new hires have since left.

GIPB Update

November - we opened 101 positions, including 45 replacement roles and 56 additional roles. We currently have 66 vacant positions.

We welcomed 42 new team members, an increase from the previous month; however, 5 of these new hires have since left.

Across the Locations:

❖ GIPB hosted a weeklong onsite hiring event that resulted in 20 new candidates.

❖ Next up, three locations within GIMI will host onsite hiring events in mid-December.

❖ In the month of November, 4 additional events within our community were led by members of our Talent team in partnership with Misson; Ron, Lisa, Amber, Randy, Tom and Grace.

SAFETY & RISK

Risk & Safety

Our busy season is here, the audit visits and LP visits will assist you and your teams stay compliant and safe in these busy times. A few reminders listed below:

• Remember to use the required PPE

• Ask for team lifts and use MHE when needed

• Wear your gloves and safety glasses when using the compactor and when the compactor gate is open, you must have 2 people present

• Report all incidents immediately

• Keep the aisles free of S/T/F hazards

• Be intentional with hiring and training

• Ensure we have the right people in the right positions

• Be kind, communicate with each other and follow our Safety Program/Processes

Loss Prevention

During the Holiday Season, please remember the following:

• Be the best witness, document, call LP for assistance with shoplifters and trespasses, do not put yourself in harms way

• Dressing rooms checked per the process

• Back offices/Cash Offices secured

• Exits clear, no obvious hazards

• Supply closets Checked and Secured

• Follow all cash handling processes

• Complete a final walk through at end of day

• Double-check all exterior and interior doors are secured, including compactors.

• Teams exit and leave the building together at the end of day

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT

GIPB:

• L&D hosted 9 LDP sessions on Change & Conflict Management, Path to Effective Communication and Training Team Members.

• Thank you for all of the great questions and participation!

• Watch for more classes coming after the new year!

• 8 training plans and learning plans completed

• Clarisa Mayen, ATL at Forest Hill increased a level in the JPL program! Please help us congratulate her on this achievement!

• Laura Doran, ATL of ADCs completed her Supervision and Management Certificate series through Ed2Go. Join us in celebrating her fantastic achievement!

GIMI:

• Jill Shroyer, GPC at Corporate Campus completed her Bachelor in Health and Human Services with a 3.91 GPA! Let’s all congratulate her on this milestone!

Projects and Collaboration:

• Continued work on school partnerships and MOUs in progress for both sides

• Finalized Asana training modules with PM team

• Partnered with HR and Risk and Safety team on some training tools for upcoming new processes

- SDWAN Transition: The following locations have had their new FortiGate firewalls installed and configured:

- New Facility Openings:

• 1280 (Stuart Bookstore) has had all critical operations equipment installed.

• Managed Services: Our team resolved 23 tickets for our technology support customers.

• Onboarding Experience Enhancement: Our team is collaborating with all administrative support departments to digitize, automate, and streamline the onboarding process.

•Conducted alignment meetings with Project Management, HR, and Talent teams.

Asana Training and Onboarding Update

• Asana Onboarding Just Got Easier! Training is now automated through GoodwillU®.

• New users added to Asana will automatically receive beginner modules in GoodwillU®. After completing them, Project Management will schedule a quick knowledge check then they’re ready to go! Big thanks to Harley in Learning & Development for making this happen!

Collaboration/Team Updates

• GIPB: On November 19, we opened the Stuart Bookstore a major milestone for our GIPB team! Thank you to all teams that supported this project

• Additionally, Project Management supported GIPB Facilities Maintenance team by tracking safe replacements for compliance and monitoring donor alert systems to enhance safety and communication.

• GIMI: Longboat ADC and Bookstore has made significant progress. Construction is completed and opening is planned for December 18th

• In November the Project Management team supported multiple teams including Marketing, REMD and FM, Risk Management, DGR (GIMI and GIPB), Human Resources, Information Services, and much more

PM Analytics

• The PM team is currently supporting:

• 9 Enterprise projects (+1 since LM)

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

• Donn and Melissa attended the Florida Goodwill Day at the Capitol in Tallahassee and met with many of our representatives.

• A group from GIMI walked in the Veterans Tribute before the UTC Santa parade. We received a very generous donation from Benderson Development at the event.

• Donna and Melissa attended Bowls of Hope for All Faiths Food Bank.

• Margie, Melissa, Randy, and Ryan attended the Kiwanis of Sarasota Veterans Breakfast.

• Alexa, Margie, and Melissa attended the Children's Guardian Fund Fall Luncheon

• Donn, Melisssa, and Alexa attended the Enshrinement of the 2025 Class for the Florida Sports Hall of Fame.

• Ambassador Videos at MakSchu Productions continued.

• Melissa, Donn, and Alexa attended the Florida Recycles Day Event at Florida Polytechnic University.

• Melissa, Alexa, and Tess attended the Argus Lifetime Achievement Awards Dinner.

• Donna, Melissa, and Leanne attended Empty Bowls for Meals on Wheels Plus.

• We hosted one lunch and learn in November.

• Melissa, Keera, and Dannette attended the Light Up Longboat event. It was great to speak to many who are excited we are coming to the community.

• Donn and Melissa visited the USF Bellini Center for Talent Development.

SUPPORT & RECOGNITION

GIMI

Our monthly recognition breakfast was held on November 11th . In total, 46 people attended the November breakfast! For the month, here is some of what was celebrated!

o Corporate Campus, Cortez, Mecca, North Port, Arcadia, Englewood, Laurel, Bargain Barn North, Bargain Barn North Port, Albee Farm, and Tara were Budget Busters in November

o 81 Heart Cards were sent throughout the month, and there were 8 winners of $10 gift cards

o 15 Bright Ideas were submitted

o 30 team members received a 90 Day Card & Pin

o 114 team members were mailed a birthday card

o 11 Core Value Awards

o 20 supply orders placed throughout the month for various departments

o We received 14 donations with personal items, 4 letters have been sent to notify owners, 4 items were picked up or destroyed, as requested.

o 107 new subscribers were added for the GIMI newsletter

o Completed 23 printer readings

o Supported OPS with WESA adjustments (116)

o 80 online review replies

o Printed over 1280 signs/notices for various departments

o Booked the Corporate Campus Conference room for usage 35 times

GIPB

o Broadway, Jensen Beach, Jupiter, Northlake, Palm City, South Dixie, Gatlin, Nexus, Sebastian, PSL East, PSL West, Boca East, Boca West, Boynton Beach, Forest Hill, Gulfstream Plaza, Lantana, Royal Palm, Promenade, Bargain Barn North, and Bargain Barn South achieved monthly budget for November.

o 22 Heart Cards were sent throughout the month, and there were 2 winners of a $10 gift card

o 11 Bright Ideas were submitted in which 1 was approved to be implemented.

o 90 Day Retention Cards and Pins delivered to 33 Team Members.

o Hospitality support throughout the month for internal meetings, and travel arrangements for Operations and Mission’s Department.

o We received 11 donations with personal items; letters have been sent to notify owners.

o Completed 41 Help Desk Tickets throughout the month for various departments which includes print jobs, hospitality, and bright idea submissions.

o Supported Risk Management with 26 Safety Star certificates and pins.

o Supported GPCs with 12 Role Model Worker Certifications.

• In November, we added 40,148 new contacts after updating our contact lists from Solutions. This equates to a 28% subscriber growth!

• November Final Standings: A solid month with 10 total entries from 5 teams! Great work to Support & Recognition for leading submissions.

• Looking Ahead: Let’s build on this momentum in December! We’ll continue focusing on boosting content from our Palm Beaches (GIPB) teams and highlighting Thrift Finds on both coasts to support store sales.

MISSION DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

Engagement:

• We attended the Goodwill Connect Conference, where Sara presented alongside leaders from Goodwill Easter Seals Minnesota and Goodwill of Central North Carolina.

WESA:

• Began training the Northern New England Goodwill and Miami Goodwill, and scheduled a couple demos.

GoodwillU:

• Kicked off GodwillU onboarding with the North Florida team.
