SAFETY & RISK

Risk Management:

• As we enter the second quarter of 2025, join me in congratulating Will Johnson on his promotion to Senior Risk and Safety Manger. This is well deserved, and we look forward to an exciting 2025.

• This month, we’re focusing on safe lifting and driving continuous improvement across the organization.

o Use team lifts when needed

o Lift with your legs, not your back

• We’re committed to building a culture of safety and innovation, enhancing service, refining processes, and empowering everyone to grow and excel.

Audit Trends:

• Please avoid using bed risers to elevate workstations unless approved and placed by FM, as unapproved equipment can present safety risks due to potential instability.

• To ensure a safe and compliant workspace, collaborate with Operations and the FM department if ergonomic adjustments are needed.

• In terms of HCP breakdown, progress is evident, but accuracy can still improve health and beauty items (excluding hair spray aerosols) should be placed in the Accessories tote.

• Finally, while surface cleaning in restrooms may appear sufficient, persistent odors suggest the need for deeper sanitation, particularly around the base of the commode and adjacent tiles, where buildup in grout may be the primary issue. Keep up the good work!

Loss Prevention:

• Our Loss Prevention Team has had a very busy month. Noted trends are internal and external thefts as well as violations of the smoke free and drug free workplace.

• Our GIPB and GIMI teams continue to partner with LP and safety to ensure we are able to provide our TM’s with a safe and positive working environment.

• Thank you for your continued awareness and reporting efforts, teamwork gets things done.
