The church wants to reach out to Camping's followers with a message of hope.

Citizen-led Campaign Advances No Exceptions Abortion Ban in Poland removing exceptions from the nation's abortion laws and providing total protection for preborn children from the moment of conception is set for a parliamentary vote this week in Poland. The legislation is the result of a citizen-led initiative drive in which sponsors were required to collect 100,000 signatures over the course of three months. The grassroots effort reportedly collected 600,000 signatures in just two weeks.

Currently, the Polish law allows for abortion in cases related to maternal health, if the pregnancy is the result of "illegal activity," or if the preborn child is disabled.

Polish abortionists have manipulated the exceptions to kill children with minor defects including cleft palates. Reports of fraud concerning fetal age are prevalent, and "illegal activity" is often misrepresented

to include a wider range of criminal activity.

Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, a former assistant to Pope John Paul II, told Poland's largest opinion weekly, Gosc Niedzielny, "The Church clearly teaches that it is the obligation of Catholics not to protect the current 'compromise' but to aim at complete protection of life.

New Movie Seats to Hit Theaters Soon Gyrating movie seats will let you feel actors' movements in 3-D movies

At 50 specially equipped theaters, movie goers this summer will be able to feel actors' movements right in their seats.

Motions range from being pitched forward, backward or side to side and give the experience of a momentary freefall when a character jumps off a cliff. Seat controls let the viewer dial down the intensity of the movement, which at the highest setting can reach up to two times the acceleration caused by gravity.

Made by D-Box Technologies of Montreal, the seats are one more way theaters are moving to compete with home theater systems. The company has 70 installations worldwide and

50 in the United States. It aims to expand to 200 locations within a year and to 1,000 locations within four years, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Guy Marcoux, DBox vice president of marketing, says it took 600 hours to program seats for "Fast Five."

Engineers go through movies frame-by-frame to create a "motion track", which is like a sound track and controls the

seat.

For complex scenes, such as a character racing away from an explosion in a car while being shot

at, a single frame could feature multiple motions simultaneously, and the D-Box chair would jar the viewer in all the appropriate directions.

Tickets for a movie with D-Box seats cost $8 more than a regular ticket but offer a unique experience.

But of course, they do hear. And they are full of questions: Could this happen to me? What's going to happen to the children? Can I do anything to help the children I see on TV? World Vision, suggests eight ways to make a tough job a little bit easier.

1. Start by listening.

Find out what your child already knows. You can then respond in an ageappropriate way. The aim is not to worry them with the devastating details, but to protect them from misinformation they may have heard from friends or disturbing images they may have seen on television.

2. If you don't know the answers to their questions, admit it If your children ask questions that you can't answer, tell them so, and then do some research to try and help them sort it out. If they ask "Why did this have to happen?" don't be afraid to say "I don't know." If you are part of a faith community, the reassurance offered there can be invaluable in

helping your child sort through the truth that awful things happen.

3. Tell the truth about any relatives who have been affected If your family has relatives or friends in the tornadoaffected areas, it may be doubly terrifying for your child. If your family members are safe, make sure to communicate this as soon as possible. If they are affected or have been harmed, explain in simple language what has happened and alleviate any fears that the same thing may happen to your child.

4. Follow media reports or online updates privately.

Young children in particular are very impressionable, and seeing or hearing about the horrifying details of the tornadoes may be more than they can cope with. Adults, too, should ensure they are dealing with their own emotions by talking to others.

5. Concentrate on making them feel safe.

When tragedies occur, children wonder if the same event could happen in their hometown. If tornadoes are unlikely to occur in your geographic area, tell children that. Placing themselves in the situations of victims is

not all bad—it is a sign of empathy, an essential life skill, but watch for signs of excessive worrying.

6. Give children creative outlets.

I would be remiss if I did not note that naming the date was not the only mistake made by Camping. The idea that the return of Christ is the end of the world or a final doomsday is a completely erroneous teaching and totally unsupported by scripture.

The second coming is a serious shift of power but it is not the end of the world. The governments of mankind will cease to be at the return of the Lord and he will be seated in Jerusalem as the supreme ruler of the entire earth. According to scripture the end of the world will not come until Christ has ruled for one thousand years.

One aspect of the second coming that makes laughing about it a fool-
