Mother May I?

by Robert Leamon

At some point in our lives, we have all been at a crossroads. If we haven’t, then we will be, and we will have to make decisions that may impact our lives and the lives of others forever. One day we will all have to make tough decisions. Sometimes we will want to make them based on our feelings. Should we or should we not? These are the questions.

Don’t get me wrong: our feelings do play a certain part in making choices in life, but remember, knowing by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.” These are just a couple of verses, but there are so many more in the New and Old Testaments.

Seeking Him through His Word is one way to help with decisions, but we should also be seeking Him through prayer. The opinions of our godly friends are okay to help sometimes when we know that they will tell us the truth even if it hurts.

and thinking something is wrong or right are two totally different things. If we are sure 100 percent that something is right or wrong, then the decision will be less complicated. But it’s the times we are unsure in which it gets tough.

So what should we do in these types of situations? For those who do not know God, their choices/ decisions, everything they do, will be based off of the world and their feelings. For those who are children of God and desire to honor Him with their lives and are disciplined, it will fall under the PERFECT WILL OF GOD.

I’ve listed a couple of Scripture verses from the Holy Bible to help us understand that if we are His, then we will be led by His Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:25 says, “If we live by the spirit, let us also walk by the spirit.” Romans 8:14 says, “For all who are being led

The bottom line is simply this: we need to love God, and we need to understand that if we love Him, we will put His will above our own and trust Him with the outcome.
