by Linda Ray Center A difficult situation might seem like finding a way out of a dark tunnel. The first step to finding a way out of a dilemma is to reflect a mature Christian attitude.

Uncomfortable moments often arise for teens. Maybe you received a lower grade on a test than you expected; perhaps you were rejected by a close friend. One way to keep a better outlook is to spend time with God in prayer instead of dwelling on the problem. He can help you withstand hard times because He promises to be close to the brokenhearted.

Jesus found the determination to press through the most painful situation of all. He dealt with rejection, blame, and deception. He ascended into Heaven, leaving you with His spirit to help you deal with hardto-handle situations and to give you strength in being a good witness for His glory.

In my senior year of high school, I remembered there was an election for class president. One of

the candidates, who lost, thanked his classmates for their support, congratulated the winner, and announced he would put all his efforts in helping the new president. Having a positive attitude worked in the candidate’s favor. He became the student most likely to succeed later that year.

Every day, make the most of the opportunities God gives you to inspire other people to develop positive attitudes. Isaiah 41:10 says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Trusting God to guide you in any dilemma is the best way to deal with hard times. In choosing a positive attitude, you will

come out of a difficult situation with renewed

strength. And your life will become positive as a result.
