When Matt and Alethea Mizen embarked upon their new kitchen from Leekes, it represented the final element of a lengthy home improvement project and the couple were keen to establish their new room as the social hub of the home – a practical, versatile and stylish area where they could spend time with family and friends. “After several years of house renovation the kitchen was the final part to complete" recalls Alethea, “and it’s lovely to be able to come home, relax and enjoy the heart of our home.” The project entailed working alongside Leekes’ expert designers to create a kitchen that would provide just the right mix of style and practicality – including specific lifestyle features that met the couple’s requirements. With an island at the top of their priority list, the couple decided on a classic monochrome colour scheme for their cabinets and worktops. The sleek and stylish Sheraton Mattonella white gloss

Another key factor in the design process was incorporating the latest in product innovation. After considering the daily tasks to be completed, such as cooking, cleaning and washing, integrated appliances such as the fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven were selected for a space-saving and seamless finish. Then, to add the gadget factor the couple chose the Neff automatic Bean to Cup coffee machine, with Matt enthusing, “I love all the gadgets and am particularly thrilled with the integrated coffee machine.” Combining functional with softer ambient illumination created the right lighting for an alluring living space – and with the open plan kitchen now the primary entertaining area as well as a practical space within the home, it was important
