The promise of spring is just around the corner, so now is a good time to get your skin spring ready. Ruth Benjamin Green took time out of her busy day running Benjamin’s Interiors on Penarth Road, Cardiff to enjoy the Algae Body Wrap and Massage at St. David’s Spa, Cardiff Bay.
Tried & Tested What were your first impressions of the Spa Ruth? I arrived at St David’s Spa for my algae wrap and was greeted by friendly staff who directed me to the spa where my treatment would take place. The surroundings were comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed, yet professional. Who was your therapist? My therapist Amanda greeted me with a warm smile which put me at ease straight away. She was very knowledgable and professional and told me that she had been a beauty therapist for thirteen years. She was full of passion for her trade and this gave me great confidence in her abilities. She talked me through the treatment and made sure that I was fully aware of what was going to happen and what to expect. How was the treatment? I received an all over invigorating body brushing (which got my blood flowing) and an all over body scrub, followed by a peppermint algae wrap, which was applied all over my body (delicious) and yes this meant being wrapped up in plastic for twenty minutes! The products used were divine. They were from the Espa range and smelt and felt gorgeous. There was soft acoustic music playing in the background which added to the relaxing atmosphere and helped me float away while Amanda finished my treatment with a fabulous foot massage.
“ The surroundings were comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed, yet professional.” Just as I was drifting off (seriously nearly snoring) I was asked to shower, while Amanda prepared a glass of water. How did you feel after the treatment? Very relaxed, yet invigorated and was told to drink lots of water as this would help to continue detoxing the body. Were you able to enjoy the other facilities while you were there? As this is a very busy time at the moment getting the new spring displays and stock ready, I didn’t have any free time to take advantage of the pool and gym. The ladies in the pool looked as if they were enjoying their downtime and I felt a little envious that I didn’t have the time to dive in. However, I will make time on my next visit as it looked inviting. 26
Would you go again? I will certainly take advantage of the spa again very soon as I was told they have a few promotions coming up that can’t be missed! Would you recommend St David’s Spa to others? Most definitely! Not only did I thoroughly enjoy my treatment but the location is so convenient, the service so professional and at reasonable prices.
