Anne Rodgers from Penarth has been in business off and on for over 40 years but not always as a healer. In Business magazine takes a leap of faith to find out more.

HANDS ON EXPERIENCE Some are directors of companies, some are bankers, doctors, even consultants I see a lot of people with high pressure and stressful jobs.

Would you say there’s an element of counselling to what you do? Yes, we’re emotional and physical beings so while I’m healing the physical, I’m also working at an emotional and spiritual level. Do you have to believe in a religion to visit you? Religion is the choice of the individual. What I do isn't about religion. It's about healing people and passing on positive energy.

Have you always been a healer? I became a healer about eighteen years ago. I was lying in bed one night and it was as if the ceiling had been removed and the room was filled with light and spectacular colours. I was quite unnerved at the time but then I heard a voice and it assured me that everything was going to be fine. Had anything ever happened to you like this before? Not at all. You should have been there it really was an experience. What did you do before you became a healer? I ran my own hair salon. I did quite well - had fantastic, loyal customers we were always busy. I suppose because of that, I have always been good with people. You have to be a good listener working in a salon. But, after ‘the gift was given’, quite a few odd (but good) things started to happen which led me to eventually become a full time healer. From then on, I was on a path to healing. It has sustained me for all this time so I must be doing something right. Do people have a problem with you charging for what you do? I’ve never had people complain. I do some work for free because I know that not everyone can afford it. It’s my work, it’s what I do.

What do you charge? I charge £40 for a one hour session. Does a client have to undress? No. Just be comfortable, All I ask is that they remove their shoes. Do you touch them? Sometimes, yes. However, I will only place my hands appropriately and will always ask if they are happy for me to do so. What will I experience? Everyone is different. Some people feel warmth, some feel cold. Some move a little - some move a lot! It’s quite safe. Some get emotional. Some experience vivid colours when they close their eyes. I will always do my best to explain what they are seeing and feeling, and why. What type of clients do you see? I see men, women and children (although always accompanied). I work with many high profile business people and sports people. You might be surprised who I heal. It’s all strictly confidential. What can you help with? I have helped people get well from quite hopeless conditions. I often work with high-powered corporate customers. Many are just regular everyday people. ❧ 61 ❧

Where do you see yourself in the next few years? I’m looking at opening a surgery in London - perhaps on Harley Street where I could work perhaps one day a week. Also, I may be spending time in Spain from time to time as my daughter and her family have just moved there. There may be an opportunity to do something there. Who knows, I’m keeping my options open.
