Contributed report On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 the Goochland County Board of Supervisors approved a proclamation recognizing May 2018 as Older Americans Month, a time to celebrate the contributions of older residents and the many ways they make a difference in the community. The theme for Older Americans Month is “Engage at Every Age,” which emphasizes that residents can take part in diverse activities throughout their lives. The County acknowledges the importance of residents, no matter the age, taking part in activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being. In Goochland County multiple resources including Senior Connections, Goochland County Parks & Recreation, and local churches offer residents opportunities to “Engage at Every Age.” One of the many programs offered by

On Tuesday, May 1, John L. Lumpkins, Jr. was sworn in as District 3 Supervisor for the Goochland County Board of Supervisors, filling a vacancy created as a result of the death of Supervisor Ned S. Creasey on March 10, 2018. The Board was required by state law to appoint, by April 24, 2018, a qualified voter of District 3 to fill the vacancy until a special election could be held on November LUMPKINS 6, 2018. After a very deliberative selection process, the Board selected Mr. Lumpkins to serve as Supervisor for District 3.
