A 19-year-old Mechanicsville woman was killed in a Goochland crash on June 4, after the driver of a truck she was riding in turned in front of another vehicle. Jackie Elaine Lipford was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, and the driver of the vehicle, Andrew Loflin, 21, of Mechanicsville, was not injured and was charged by Goochland deputies with reckless driving. The crash occurred at around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Broad Street Road and Fairground Road in Goochland. The driver of the other vehicle, a Ford F 350 pickup truck that was heading east on Broad Street Road (Route 250), was transported to an area hospital by Goochland Fire & Rescue where he was treated and released. Lipford was wearing her seat belt, according to deputies, and alcohol was not a factor in the accident. County deputies were assisted by the Virginia State Police crash team at the accident site.
