The event’s crowning moment was the dramatic victory of Cote Atlantique in the prestigious $200,000, 1600m Seymour Cup, where jockey Beau Mertens and trainer Henry Dwyer orchestrated a masterful performance that left the crowd in awe. With a perfect blend of racing excellence, vibrant entertainment, and familyfriendly activities, the day fully embodied its motto, "Racing.

The way it’s meant to be!"

(Race 7) added to the day’s highlights with victories for D. & C. Feek and P. Moody & K. Coleman, while Lovelycut (Race 9) closed the card with a stylish run for R.J. Goodwin. Each race brought its own drama, from tight finishes to unexpected surges, ensuring a day of non-stop action for racing enthusiasts.

Among the highlights of the day, the 2025 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour attracted hundreds of racegoers, all eager to capture a photo with the iconic trophy, adding a touch of national racing prestige to the Seymour event.

Beyond the racetrack, the Seymour Cup transformed the racecourse into a lively festival ground. Wacky Creative’s roving entertainment stole hearts with their whimsical Mirrored Unicorn and a roaming trio of musicians, whose melodies drifted through the crowd, delighting young and old alike. The Fashions on the Field competition was a standout, with racegoers showcasing their finest spring attire, competing for prestigious prizes in a celebration of style and creativity—congratulations to the winners, whose outfits turned heads and set a new benchmark for race-day elegance.

Motorsport fans found their thrill in the Bathurst 1000 Precinct, where a massive screen broadcast the iconic race live, merging the roar of engines with the thunder of hooves.

The entertainment continued with Bentley Grattan’s live music, whose soulful tunes and energetic performance had the crowd dancing and singing throughout the afternoon, creating a festive atmosphere that lingered long after the races. The CUB 'Brookvale Union' Party Marquee, energised by DJ Mastrrang, became the heartbeat of the evening, offering craft beers and pulsating beats.

Families reveled in the kids’ zone, where pony rides, a bouncing jumping castle, and face painting turned the area into a hub of laughter and joy, ensuring every age group had a memorable experience.

Mounting Yard Host Dan Mielicki played a pivotal role, bringing the pre-race excitement to life with his engaging commentary and expert insights. His warm presence and knack for spotting key moments kept the crowd informed and entertained, bridging the gap between the casual fan and the racing aficionado.

As the sun dipped below the horizon on October 12, 2025, the Seymour Cup left an indelible mark on all who attended. Cote Atlantique’s stellar victory stood as the day’s pinnacle, but the event’s success was amplified by the seamless blend of sport, community connection, and entertainment. Organisers hailed it as a resounding triumph, praising the turnout, the competitive racing, and the vibrant atmosphere that defined the day.

The Seymour Cup was the undisputed highlight, a race that had punters and spectators on the edge of their seats from start to finish.

Cote Atlantique showcased its brilliance, surging through the field with Mertens expertly guiding the horse to a commanding lead in the final 200 metres. The 1600m journey tested every competitor, but Cote Atlantique’s explosive turn of foot proved decisive, crossing the line a length ahead in a thrilling photo finish. The $200,000 prize purse underscored the race’s significance, and Dwyer’s strategic preparation combined with Mertens’ flawless ride cemented their names in Seymour’s rich racing history. The victory sparked jubilant scenes among the connections, with fans erupting in cheers as the result was confirmed, marking a memorable moment that will be recounted for years.

Daniher’s Drive 2025: A Joyful Journey for MND Awareness The 2025 Daniher’s Drive roared to life on Thursday, October 9, kicking off an inspiring journey from Heidelberg Golf Club in Lower Plenty.

This year’s convoy, weaving from Victoria’s lush tree-lined regions to its coastal shores, began with a vibrant morning of laughter, camaraderie, and purpose. Neale Daniher’s family—wife Jan, daughter Bec, and brothers Chris, Anthony, and Terry—joined former Melbourne Demons teammates and Sunrise’s Sam Mac to flag off the teams with infectious energy.

Victorian Premier The Hon Jacinta Allan spoke at the departure, announcing a $100,000 contribution from the State Government to FightMND as we continue the chase for a cure.

The first stop was a heartfelt homecoming at Assumption College in Kilmore, where Neale Daniher, a proud Class of ’78 alumnus, was warmly welcomed by students, staff, and locals. For Neale, the visit was especially poignant as he saw the Neale Daniher Community and Sports Pavilion for the first time. Opened in 2022, the pavilion honors his legacy with a Hall of Excellence, change rooms, visitor facilities, a grandstand, umpire spaces, a multi-purpose communal area, and a 250-seat function center, complete with warm-up zones, equipment storage, and plaques sharing Neale’s inspiring story.

Northern Councils Unite in Push for Better Transport: Residents Urged to Share Their Stories Seven councils in Melbourne's north have joined forces in a groundbreaking campaign to highlight the urgent need for improved transport infrastructure, inviting residents and local businesses to voice the real-world impacts of unreliable and insufficient transport options.

The Connect Melbourne’s North initiative, launched on 7 October 2025, unites the municipalities of Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Merribek, Mitchell, Nillumbik, and Whittlesea. It aims to secure critical investments in public transport, enhanced connectivity, and active transport networks to support the region's rapid growth.

Locals are encouraged to head to the Connect Melbourne's North website and submit their personal accounts—whether it's enduring lengthy bus waits, navigating constant traffic congestion, or facing barriers to accessing employment, education, or healthcare due to limited services.

From congested roadways throughout the area to hazardous cycling routes, insufficient rural services, and disconnected inner-suburban

Congratulations to the Daniher's Drive All Stars for taking out the inaugural race (however a stewards enquiry may be needed!) and a heartfelt thank you to the students and staff of Assumption College for hosting our first community event of this year’s Drive.

From Kilmore, the convoy rolled through picturesque countryside to Flowerdale Estate in Strath Creek, where participants enjoyed a lunch break amid rolling hills and spring sunshine, swapping stories and soaking up the community spirit. The journey continued through the scenic Yarra Valley, with winding roads and stunning views leading to the first night’s event in Marysville.

Now in its ninth year, Daniher’s Drive has grown from a modest awareness campaign into a cornerstone fundraiser for FightMND, drawing participants nationwide. Each team raises at least $5,000, with many surpassing this goal, fueling critical research and care initiatives for motor neurone disease (MND). The Drive has explored nearly every corner of Victoria, from Gippsland to the Great Ocean Road, and even parts of NSW and SA, supported by sponsors like Chemist Warehouse, Jayco, Bayside Coaches, and options, each council has pinpointed its unique challenges. Yet, all are aligned in their pursuit of equitable and efficient transport solutions for Melbourne’s north.

As Chair of the Northern Councils Alliance and Mayor of Merribek, Cr Helen Davidson emphasized that community input will drive further advocacy efforts.

“Our region is one of the fastest growing in the country, yet our transport network hasn’t kept up. This campaign is about amplifying local voices and showing decision-makers that transport in Melbourne’s north can’t wait. We need more than words – we need commitment and investment,” Cr Davidson said.

“Whether you’re stuck in traffic every morning, or your child can’t get to TAFE, or your bus doesn’t turn up, your story matters. We’re asking you to share it.”

Key priorities the campaign is championing include: •

An efficient, connected bus network that matches how people live and work

Investment in rail projects like the Upfield Line extension and Wollert rail

•

Safer walking and cycling paths linked across Council boundaries

•

East-west connectivity to improve access to jobs and services

•

Better access to health infrastructure such as the Northern Hospital.

Investment in large road projects such as Hume Freeway extension and the OMR/E6.

Mitchell Shire Mayor John Dougall underscored the importance of timely infrastructure delivery to avoid long-term setbacks.

“Communities can’t thrive if housing comes first and schools, roads and public transport arrive years afterwards,” he said.

“Beveridge is one of Melbourne’s last major growth areas and our opportunity to get it right. The land for Beveridge Station is already set aside and ready to go – it’s the test of whether we’re serious about delivering connected communities.

“Only 1.2 per cent of people in Beveridge commute by public transport – not because they don’t want to, but because they can’t.

“Without matching investment in schools, roads and transport, we’re building communities that start at a disadvantage.”

Rough Roads, Big Rides: GRAVELISTA Rolls Into Seymour for Round Two Seymour is set to come alive on Sunday, 26 October 2025, as the second instalment of GRAVELISTA transforms the Seymour Race Club into a hub of high-octane gravel cycling.

Riders from across Australia and around the world will descend on the town, tackling one of the fastest and most thrilling courses in the UCI Gravel World Series, winding through the rolling farmlands, hidden trails, and breathtaking vistas of the Goulburn Valley and Strathbogie Ranges.

After a sensational debut last year, the excitement is only building. Returning competitors know that Seymour delivers a true test of endurance, skill, and strategy. The gravel roads demand precision and grit as cyclists negotiate rugged terrain at speed, with every corner, climb, and descent offering its own challenge. For spectators, this means non-stop action, with riders hurtling past at breakneck pace, leaving clouds of dust in their wake.

Community support is a key part of the event’s unique atmosphere, and residents can rest assured that no roads will be closed and access to properties will remain open. Temporary speed reductions and managed points along the course ensure the safety of both riders and the local community. As outlined in the official letter to residents: “While there will be no full road closures, there will be speed reductions and a number of managed points along the course to ensure the safety of both participants and the community. At these points, traffic may be held briefly while riders pass. These measures are temporary and will be managed by accredited traffic controllers to minimise any disruption.”

The event also carries high stakes for competitors. GRAVELISTA is the first official qualifying race for the 2026 UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, Western Australia. The top 25% finishers in each category will secure a coveted place at the World Championships, making every pedal stroke count. Whether riders are chasing a UCI Age Category podium, competing in elite fields, or simply rolling with friends for the thrill of the challenge, the course promises a world-class experience across Victoria’s most scenic and demanding gravel terrain.

For spectators, the day offers much more than thrilling racing. The Seymour Race Club transforms into a bustling cycling village, complete with food, entertainment, and the

Riders will be on the course between 9:00 am and 3:45 pm, and cheering from the sidelines can add energy and excitement to every sprint, climb, and dustfilled turn. Families, friends, and cycling fans are encouraged to line the route and feel the buzz as the pack flies past, creating an atmosphere that returning riders describe as electrifying.

Letter to the Editor Salvation Army Emergency Services Letter to the Editor Summer is almost upon us. Across the country, we are beginning to notice the temperature getting warmer, the days getting longer and even the Christmas decorations starting to be put up at the shops.

However, summer also brings a higher risk to our weather season in Australia, with the summer season responsible for some of the most damaging natural disasters that we see throughout the year, like extreme heat waves, bushfires, floods, cyclones, drought and more.

The Salvation Army wants to remind Aussies to not be alarmed, but to be prepared of the potential risks that this season can bring.

A few simple, practical steps can get you, your family and your home ready for whatever this season will throw at you. This could be preparing a ‘go bag’ with key personal documents, or having cash and three days of supplies spare in case a disaster affects ATM/ EFTPOS machines - applying these tips will leave you in good stead as we enter this higher risk season.

And as you prepare for this summer, we also encourage you to look out for one another. Check in with your friends and neighbours to see if they are prepared or need support heading into this disaster season. Natural disasters are a major source of stress and trauma for many who experience it, but knowing that there are people checking in on you can make a huge difference.

The Salvos have a long history with natural disasters.

For over 130 years, we have been there for the long haul helping those impacted by natural disasters around the country. Right now, our Salvation Army Emergency Services (SAES) teams are stationed at locations across the country, ready to spring into action if a disaster strikes and provide practical support (like meals and refreshments) and emotional support to anyone impacted.

David Keall Becomes An Octagenarian David and Lois Keall came to Nagambie in 2012 and settled into becoming member of local community groups.

On Saturday, 11 October 2025, David celebrated becoming an octogenarian at the Nagambie Senior Citizens Clubrooms with a party where his family and friends helped him celebrate.

David became an active member of the Nagambie RSL, even leading the group as their President for some years and supporting his band of workers for the November 2014 100 years Commemorative Week.

2014 commemorated 100 years since Australia entered World War One, and the Nagambie WW1 planning committee and supporters, veterans, their community and military personnel commemorated the historic efforts of those who fought in that War, and those who never made it home in their WW1 Commemorative Week.

This Week of events earnt the RSL and team the Strathbogie Shire’s Nagambie Event of the year Australia Day award in January 2015.

RSL reps when they received the Strathbogie Shire Community Event of the Year for Nagambie in January 2015.

He has led the RSL at quite a few Anzac Day and Remembrance Day ceremonies and ensured the Club was a viable one in the community and with the nearby army units who support the Nagambie RSL. From 2012 the Keall’s have also been involved with the Nagambie Lions Club, St John’s church, and David Became the first President of the Nagambie Lakes Men’s Shed when it was formed over a decade ago.

He has also been a keen volunteer for the Nagambie Primary School, helping the students when he could on a regular basis. He also listens to eh students read at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School.

David has supported his wife Lois faithfully, especially in her times of ill health. Sadly, he and Lois are leaving Nagambie very soon. The community wishes them well and thanks them for their contributions in many ways to make the local community a better place to live.

David would like to thank everyone who sent cards, best wishes, and gifts, for his birthday.

Congratulations David on reaching the milestone of 80 years of age. Well done.

In 2017 I wrote this story to acknowledge Lois and David Keall’s 50th anniversary. for the local newspapers. They have now passed the 58 years

mark of marriage in March 2025. A real feat in today’s stories of married couples.

Lois And David Celebrate In Style Their Golden Anniversary In the 1960’smany young couples married young.

As was the case in David and Lois Keall’s marriage.

In many marriages like theirs, it was believed that it would not last, but David and Lois have proven the soothsayers wrong. They celebrated being married 50 years on 25 March 2017 and enjoyed an anniversary party with family and friends at the Watsonia RSL last Saturday night.

Lois and David have lived in Nagambie for five years and have been involved the Lions Club, RSL, Men’s Shed, St John’s church and local primary schools.

EARLY HISTORY: Lois Manson was 15 and her mother had died when she was 14. Lois lived in Reservoir and worked in a Bridal salon in Flinders Lane Melbourne. From where she obtained her wedding gown a few years later.

She was 15 and a half when she met David Keall of Thornbury; he was 17. He was doing an apprenticeship spray painting vehicles. In 1966, he was deferred from conscription into the army for one year.

They went out together for two years then became engaged. Her father was very strict and made sure the young couple respected and honoured each other.

On 25 March 1967 David and Lois were married (against her father’s wishes) at the Croxton Methodist Church in Croxton by Reverend Turner. Lois’s sister Joy Milborne was her Matron of Honour, and Jessie Davies her Bridesmaid.

David’s Best Man was his brother Ken Keall and his

Groomsman was Geoff Woods.

In April 1967 David was drafted into the Australian army for two years, and was sent to South Vietnam in December 1967, where he served for 10 months.

Lois lived with her father whilst David was away and when he came back he finished his army service at the 2 Field Regiment in Batman Avenue, Melbourne. Then he went back to his trade working at various businesses over the years.

FAMILY COMES ALONG: Lois and David were blessed with two children Peter (1972) and Narelle (1980) while the couple lived in Reservoir and Lalor.

Peter and his partner Mandy have four children, Paige, Ella, Jay and Zac, and Narelle and her partner Brad have four children too. Briony, Kyle, Levi and Coby. The couple’s children and families told them that were looking forward to the party as they had never been to one before.

Lois said the years have not always run smoothly, and they have supported one another through thick and thin, and they have been very contended in their new home in Nagambie.

They have enjoyed some travel overseas, and been on the Ghan train ride and the major capital cities in each state.

They believe that having respect, affection, tolerance and trust, patience and caring for one another binds a couple together in marriage.

They would like to thank everyone who sent cards, best wishes, and gifts, flowers, and supporting them over the years.

Make a Splash: Celebrate National Water Week with Action From October 20-26, 2025, National Water Week brings a vibrant lineup of events hosted by Goulburn Valley Water, designed to inspire everyone—gardeners, students, tradespeople, and shower enthusiasts alike— to rethink how we use and conserve water. This year’s program is packed with engaging, educational, and fun activities that highlight the value of water and encourage sustainable habits.

Cans for a Cause: Supporting Cancer Research One standout initiative is led by GMW Business Support Partner Ceara Klassen, who began donating to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) in October 2024 through the innovative ‘Cans for a Cause’ program. By collecting cans and plastic bottles from a recycling bin at GMW’s Casey Street office in Tatura and redeeming them at a local 10-cent refund point under the Container Deposit Scheme, Ceara has raised significant funds for cancer research. To date, over 1,100 items have been collected and processed.

Strong community connections should be part of disaster preparedness: World Mental Health Day Australians for Mental Health is calling on governments to prioritise social connections this World Mental Health Day, with this year’s theme focussing on mental health responses in humanitarian emergencies.

There is a growing body of evidence that social connection is a protective factor when it comes to mental health. Australians for Mental Health is urging governments to continue building public policies that improve social connection.

“We shouldn’t just be focussing on people’s wellbeing after a disaster hits. Connected communities with programs or social infrastructure in place to reduce loneliness are critical. That’s why we need to invest in places and programs that bring people together before an emergency strikes,” he said.

The New South Wales Nature Conservation Council’s Hotspots Fire Project has proven preparing together before a disaster not only reduces risk, but strengthens social ties too.

In collaboration with the NSW RFS, the program runs education and training workshops that help locals better understand fire in their landscape.

“We set out to help people better prepare their properties and communities more broadly for fires. But building social connections has been a

“The project also found being connected to nature and helping in its recovery from disasters also helped a community’s social recovery,” Mr Taylor said.

They should be resourced to reduce loneliness in this way, and also measure their progress too,” Chris Gambian said.

Nagambie Senior Citizens We celebrated our 53rd Birthday on Thursday 2nd October. We had 66 members attend and all agreed it was a delicious meal catered by JBL and we had excellent entertainment by Noel Pearson ensuring further success on the day.

Our raffle prizes were of high standard, and we thank Bunnings for their generosity and to all those who contributed to make the day enjoyable for everyone. A lot of work goes in to organizing and putting together these special days. Thanks to our members for supporting these events.

Details of the trip to Bendigo, to see the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion have been released. The date has been set for Tuesday 18th November. There is a list at the hall where we are taking names to attend. The total cost is $35 for members and if not a member, $5 will give you a year of benefits that are provided by the Seniors, you will be made very welcome.

Still hoping to find more people wanting to come along on this excursion next year for our three-day trip to Phillip Island on 16-18th March. Final cost is $450 per person (with club subsidy to members). It includes meals, breakfast and dinner and accommodation.

A motions was also passed to allow her to remain as Acting Secretary. The SGM will be held on Thursday, 30th October at 11.30am and formal notice has been sent to all members eligible to vote. The building is located to the west of the school oval and will be accessible from Goulburn St, via a new driveway and walking path.

Strathbogie Shire Adopts 2025–2029 Advocacy Plan to Champion Community Priorities Strathbogie Shire Council has endorsed its Advocacy Strategy 2025–2029 at its September 16 meeting, establishing a robust framework to amplify the Shire’s voice and secure vital outcomes for the community over the next four years. The strategy targets key priorities, including reliable power, enhanced digital infrastructure, climate resilience, local road safety improvements, and the advancement of significant projects like Greening Euroa and the Nagambie Industrial Freight Bypass.

Strathbogie Shire Mayor, Claire Ewart-Kennedy, emphasized the strategy’s role in effective representation: “Advocacy is a core responsibility of local government. This Strategy gives us a stronger, unified voice to champion both the long-term challenges and the immediate needs of our community. It ensures we can focus our efforts, build partnerships, and pursue opportunities that make a real difference,” Mayor Ewart-Kennedy said.

Informed by a Councillor workshop and extensive community input from the Council Plan 2025–2029 and Community Vision 2035, the strategy is designed to be dynamic, adapting to evolving needs and opportunities. Nagambie Golf RESULTS WEDNESDAY 1ST OCTOBER It was the 1st round of the Vi Nolan 4BBB Partners competition.The 1st round winners were Jane Bow and Karyn Thompson with +9. The 9 hole winners were also Jane & Karyn with +5 18 hole balls went to Jane & Karyn as did the 9 hole balls. N/P on the 3rd was Marg Harrison N/P on the 16th was Amanda Thompson.

RESULTS WEDNESDAY 8TH OCTOBER It was round 2 and the final round of the Vi Nolan competition.

The round 2 winners were Marg Harrison and Irene Keogh with + 7.

Marg and Irene also were the winners of the 9 hole competition with + 3.

18 hole balls and 9 hole balls went to Marg and Irene.

N/P only achieved on the 16th by Moz Fowler.

The overall winners of the Vi Nolan Competition were the very happy Jane Bow and Karyn Thompson with an aggregate of + 14 over the 2 weeks.

Nagambie Petanque Club We held our AGM on Thursday 11th September at our clubroom piste area with eleven members attending. We have elected a new President, John Stacey. He has agreed to step in to give our very long standing President, Claire Sampson a break. Thanks to John for volunteering to this position and to Claire for her many years of dedication and hard work to always ensure our club runs smoothly and competitions we hold are first rate. She also completes in other club competitions and is a very active Petanque player. Thanks Claire, it is nice to know we still have you as our Tournament Director.

We are planning our Triples Competition that will be held on Sunday 9th November at our grounds here in Nagambie behind the recreation reserve. If you would like to come to watch and see how the game is played, this would be a great opportunity, as we will have members from other clubs around Victoria, and a varying standard of players. The club will be working on getting rid of weeds and making the area look spick and span for our competition on that day.

We welcome any new players who would like to come and join us. If you are interested in giving Petanque a try, please come along to our playing area (piste) behind the swimming pool at the Nagambie Rec Reserve. We are normally there, weather permitting on a Thursday and Sunday around 2pm (changing to 3pm after daylight savings begins.) All equipment provided, if you feel you would like to give it a try.

Avenel Bowls Club Last Sunday Avenel Bowls Club held its Opening Day to launch the 2025/26 bowls season.

After a welcome speech by President Ross Sinclair, the two youngest members present on the day rolled the first jack and the first bowl. The honour went to brothers Kyle and Walter Pedder.

A hotly contested, but fun game of three bowl triples was then played with everyone keen to do well after the long winter break. It was very pleasing to see new members on the green learning the ropes and having fun.

Just before the rain set in we ventured into the clubhouse for a sumptuous afternoon tea prepared by the members when everyone reconnected to tell stories of their winter travels and happenings.

Thank you to the greenkeepers who have spent many hours getting the green into tip top condition after its winter slumber.

As the club is now up and running, practice and social bowls are now in full swing. Anyone interested in learning how to bowl , barefoot bowls for fun or just to enjoy the social side of bowls will be made most welcome at the club every Thursday from 4pm and every Sunday from 9.45am.

Emelia D'Andrea Wins 2025 Leanne Good Medal The Kyabram District League (KDL) celebrated the awarding of the Leanne Good Medal (13 & Under Best & Fairest) to Emelia D'Andrea of Nagambie Lakers Football Netball Club, who polled an impressive 31 votes. The medal honors Leanne Good, a legendary netballer who played for the Tallygaroopna Football Netball Club starting in 2000, and held numerous positions including President, coach, best & fairest, premiership player, and team manager—even umpiring the odd game. Her leadership in the KDL saw her serve as Vice President in 2002 and President from 2005 to 2010, earning Life Membership in 2012 for her dedication.

Leanne was a driving force in merging football and netball committees and championed youth netball, launching junior programs and introducing the 15 & Under age group in 2002 and 17 & Under in 2008.

Known for her meticulous management of netball ladders—adjusting for byes, forfeits, and draws—she ensured fair playtime for all clubs. Her passion for interleague netball and coaching further showcased KDL talent against top opposition, reflecting her commitment to sportsmanship and family involvement.

After a successful end to the 2024 season where most of the members of this team helped claim Nagambie Soccer Club’s first ever piece of silverware the 2024 U10 Shepparton Junior Soccer Association (SJSA) Gala Day Final winners, the boys were keen for a big season.

The first 5 matches of the season the boys started off on fire, with 4 wins and a draw & scoring a massive 59 goals while only conceding 11.

The team was then re-graded into a higher division which provided a great challenge for the boys coming up against tough opponents each week. The next 10 games of the season only saw the team win 1 match (which was the final round before finals) but they also had 5 draws which showed how even the division was.

During this period, we also had a few players unavailable due to injury, holidays or sickness. This gave great opportunities for U10 players to step up to U12 each week, which was a great learning experience for the young players.

We finished the season in 4th position which allow us to reach the semifinal against top of the table Kialla United

Dragons. With almost a full list of players the Nagambie boys played one of their best matches for the year to come away with a surprise 2-0 upset.

Nagambie U12 Red had reached the grand final and the boys were ready to take on the 2nd on the ladder Kyabram Knights Black in the biggest game of their lives.

The match was played in perfect conditions with a big Nagambie crowd watching on. The boys started off on fire with Kodinna scoring 2 goals in the first half to take a 2-0 lead at half time.

Kyabram was always going to fight back and scored an early goal in the second half, with Nagambie still holding a 2-1 lead. Will as goalkeeper for the past 3 games was pulling off some amazing saves to keep the score at 2-1 with Henry regularly clearing the ball from defence.

Nagambie kept the momentum going with lots of forward attacks with Jack and Charlie continuing to break the defensive lines of Kyabram.
