Gomez & Molina no es solo un punto de venta, porque más que un espacio, lo que nos define es nuestra manera de ser. Formamos parte indisociable de Marbella y del Puerto Banús, que poco a poco van recuperando el esplendor de épocas pasadas.

Nuestro gran reto no es únicamente crear un buen escaparate, sino ofrecer al cliente una experiencia real de lo que somos y pretendemos ser.

Un diamante dice mucho de la persona que lo lleva, del mismo modo que un reloj silencia al que se enamora con su particular captura del tiempo. No son objetos, son creaciones para toda una vida, la suya, también la nuestra.

No tenemos más remedio que ponernos al día y acompañarles en la toma de decisiones.

Lo haremos en persona y a través de esta revista, la cuarta edición de Gomez & Molina. Las páginas que vienen a continuación son un compendio de nuestro sector y se centra más que nunca en aquellas marcas garantes de la excepcionalidad. Por ello, encontrarán reportajes de un alto contenido técnico, como por ejemplo el artículo sobre los cronógrafos de Patek Philippe o la entrevista al propietario de Bovet, Pascal Raffy.

Por otro lado, los lectores también disfrutarán de un buen número de artículos de estilo de vida. Fäviken Magasinet Comer en este restaurante es una experiencia alucinante. El local se encuentra en una granja, en pleno monte Jämtland, y atiende a tan solo 12 comensales al día. Al frente del proyecto está Magnus Nilsson, un chef de 31 años que ya es una referencia dentro del panorama internacional. Su menú se inspira en la nueva cocina nórdica, expresada eso sí de una forma más radical: solo ingredientes locales (excepto la sal, el vinagre y el vino) y producto de temporada.

Eating in this restaurant is an astonishing experience. It is located on a farm, right on Jämtland Mountain, and it can only fit 12 diners per day. At the helm of this project is Magnus Nilsson, a 31year-old chef who has already become a benchmark on the international scene. His menu draws inspiration from the new Nordic cuisine, yet expressed in a more radical way: only local ingredients (except the salt, vinegar and wine) and seasonal products.

Mirazur Aferrado a la montaña y dominando el mar, este majestuoso edificio de los años 30 se ha convertido en el escenario donde despliega su arte el chef italo-argentino Mauro Colagreco. Mirazur está considerado como el 11º mejor restaurante del mundo y es el primero de la lista que pertenece a Francia. En la cocina se notan mucho sus orígenes: destaca el original risotto de quinoa o la magnífica selección de pescado del día.

Nestled in the mountain and looking out over the sea, this majestic building from the 1930s has become the backdrop where the ItalianArgentinian chef Mauro Colagreco deploys his art. Mirazur is regarded as the 11th best restaurant in the world, and it is the first on the list in France. Many of his origins can be detected in the cooking: standouts include the original quinoa risotto and the amazing selection of freshly-caught fish.

Dani García Después de la experiencia al frente de Calima, Dani García abre un restaurante con su nombre en el Hotel Puente Romano. Aportará su cariño por la tradición innovada y por supuesto los conocimientos que le han llevado a obtener dos estrellas Michelin. Los comensales podrán deleitarse con ‘Once Upon a time’, un menú degustación de 20 pases que recrea algunos clásicos de la literatura infantil. El restaurante tiene capacidad para 70 personas.

After his experience at the helm of Calima, Dani García has opened a restaurant with his own name in the Hotel Puente Romano. It features his affection for innovated tradition and of course the knowledge that has led him to earn two Michelin stars. Diners can enjoy “Once Upon a Time”, a gourmet sampling meal with 20 dishes that re-create some of the classics from children’s literature. The restaurant seats up to 70 people.

Chanel Si tuviéramos que resumir la trayectoria de Chanel, deberíamos hablar obligatoriamente de la boutique que la firma tiene en la Rue Cambon de París. Gabrielle Chanel abrió allí una tienda de sombreros en 1910, aunque ocho años después ampliaría el negocio, estableciendo su propio taller de costura y creando el concepto de la boutique contemporánea. Su primer perfume, el Nº5, se vendía junto a joyas, complementos y otras prendas. Sin duda, una cita con la historia de la moda.

If you had to summarise Chanel’s history, you would be forced to mention the firm’s shop on Paris’ Rue Cambon. There Gabrielle Chanel opened a hat shop back in 1910, although eight years later she expanded the business by setting up her own couture studio and creating the concept of the contemporary boutique. Her first perfume, No. 5, was sold along with jewellery, accessories and other items. It is unquestionably an encounter with fashion history.

Louis Vuitton Exhibición de músculo de la firma francesa, que cuenta con la que sin duda es una de las mejores boutiques del mundo: la ‘Louis Vuitton Island Maison’. El encargado de diseñar este maravilloso edificio flotante es Peter Marino, quien contó con la colaboración del estudio de Moshe Safdie. Contiene en sus varios pisos una completa y amplísima oferta de moda que incluye relojería y joyería, ropa para hombre y mujer, calzado, bolsos, accesorios y un espacio dedicado únicamente a los artículos de viaje.

This shop is a display of the French firm’s muscle in what is unquestionably one of the best shops in the world: the “Louis Vuitton Island Maison”. The person charged with designing this amazing floating building was Peter Marino, who worked with the studio of Moshe Safdie. Its different floors contain a comprehensive, extensive range of fashion that includes watches and jewellery, clothing for men and women, footwear, bags, accessories and an area devoted solely to travel items.

Royal Melbourne La revista Golf Course Architecture publicó recientemente un ranking de los mejores campos de golf del mundo. El Top Ten está acaparado por representantes de Escocia y EEUU, pero hay una excepción: el Royal Melbourne, en Australia. Concretamente, se encuentra en Black Rock, a lo largo del tramo de playas junto a la bahía de la ciudad. Ha sido el escenario de numerosos campeonatos nacionales e internacionales.

The magazine Golf Course Architecture recently published a ranking of the top golf courses in the world. The top ten features representatives from Scotland and the USA, but there is one exception: the Royal Melbourne in Australia.

Specifically, it is located in Black Rock along a stretch of beaches near the city’s bay. It has been the venue of countless national and international championships.

Le Touessrok Golf Course Está enclavado en uno de los emplazamientos más impresionantes de Mauricio: la Isla de los Ciervos. Lo cierto es que existen pocas entradas a un club de golf más sugestivas e idílicas que el paseo en barca desde la costa por las resplandecientes aguas turquesa de esta isla africana.

El campo está diseñado por el alemán Bernhard Langer y cuenta con cuatro tees de salida diferentes.

This golf course is located in one of the most impressive spots on Mauritius, Deer Island. The fact is that there are few entrances to golf courses as suggestive and idyllic as the boat ride from the coast through the amazing turquoise waters of this African island. The course was designed by the German Bernhard Langer and has four different starting tees.

Santa Clara Golf Santa Clara Golf, que forma parte de un complejo urbanístico de 150 hectáreas y espectaculares vistas al mar, abrió sus puertas en el año 2001. El campo de golf ha sido diseñado por el experto Enrique Canales y tienes 18 hoyos con un par 71. Presenta una vuelta técnicamente difícil, pero a la vez justa y agradable, con calles anchas y pocos roughs y greens abiertos sin pendiente demasiado pronunciadas.

Santa Clara Golf, which is part of an urban development measuring 150 hectares large with spectacular views of the sea, opened its doors in 2001. The golf course was designed by the expert Enrique Canales and has 18 holes with a par of 71. It has a technically difficult turn, yet it is also fair and pleasant, with wide fairways and few open roughs and greens and no overly steep slopes.

A pesar de la gran cantidad de información que ofrece el reloj, todas las indicaciones son perfectamente legibles. Despite the vast amount of information offered by the watch, all the displays are perfectly legible. The day and more appear at 12 o’clock in two apertures, while the date can be seen in the sub-dial located at 6 o’clock through a hand. In turn, the leap year and day-night displays occupy two tiny apertures.

All of this is powered by the handwound calibre CH-29535 PS Q.

The complexity of its construction immediately jumps out. The day and month are displayed in two apertures located at 9 and 3 o’clock, respectively, while the date can be read through a semi-finished dial whose rear has an aperture to show the leap year. In this case, the tourbillon is covered by the Moon phases and the second hand. Its 39.5 mm case protects the handwound calibre R TO 27 PS QR.

The new amulets unveiled by Mimí come from true freshwater pearls, which are flat and characterised by a wide range of silver symbols with beading. Bracelet and rings combine motifs like the Moon, a fish or a four-leafed clover.

En todo este ‘circuito’ es muy importante el papel de la rueda de pilares, porque después de la acción del embrague, es la pieza que permite conectar de facto la rueda de segundos del cronógrafo con la rueda de segundos normal. En Patek Phillipe todos los cronógrafos equipan la rueda de pilares, que simplifica y sustituye el sistema por levas.

DAMIANI celebra su 90 aniversario Si Damiani fuera músico, diríamos que lleva 90 años encima de los escenarios, donde uno demuestra realmente lo que vale.

En este caso, el que inventó la partitura fue Enrico Grassi. En 1924 abrió un pequeño taller en Valenza, en la idílica región del Piamonte, y desde entonces la compañía se ha consagrado como uno de los mejores fabricantes de joyas del mundo. Ahora, son sus nietos los que están al mando. Hemos charlado con uno de ellos, Giorgio Damiani, sobre pasado, presente y futuro.

If Damiani were a musician, we would say that it has spent 90 years onstage, where it really proves its worth. In this case, the inventor of the score was Enrico Grassi. In 1924 he opened a small workshop in Valenza, in the idyllic region of Piamonte, and since then the company has earned its mettle as one of the top jewellery manufacturers in the world. Now his grandchildren are at the head of the brand. We have spoken with one of them, Giorgio Damiani, about the past, present and future.

Giorgio Damiani, nieto del fundador, tiene claro lo que pensaría su abuelo de este cambio de dimensión: “sin duda, estaría

El cambio generacional no ha supuesto una ruptura, más bien al contrario. Giorgio Damiani ha tenido claro “desde siempre” que quería dedicarse a este sector y reconoce el valor de la herencia entregada por su abuelo y su padre: “de ellos hemos aprendido el gusto por la excelencia y los conocimientos, pero sobretodo, la pasión por el trabajo”.

Let us venture into this microcosm with Lionel Betoux and Scott Devon, the owners of Cabestan and Devon, respectively. Of course, we are talking about niche brands.

Cabestan, the perfect fit Cabestan was founded in Ste-Croix, Switzerland in 2005. The designer JeanFrançois Ruchonnet offered the master watchmaker Vianny Halter an idea that he had to develop, so he enlisted the investment aid of entrepreneur Andreas Stricker. After almost two years of research, they created a prototype that worked well and was to be unveiled at Baselworld 2006.

Then came the venture of serialising the production, if that is what you can say about a brand that currently manufactures 80 watches per year.

Cabestan was purchased by Timothy Bovard, who took the decision to hire Eric Coudray, the acclaimed watchmaker who had designed JaegerLeCoultre’s Gyrotourbillon.

Finally, in 2013 the entrepreneur Lionel Betoux took over Cabestan. However, perhaps his greatest contribution was the resizing of the company. Betoux gave Cabestan a small yet strong structure, because as he himself explained, “the image of the brand was horribly damaged even though it had an incredible product”.

Contrary to what you might think, I don’t think that these watches are only for collectors. In fact, they only account for 20% of our sales. The majority of our collectors are passionate fans of mechanics and art.” Unquestionably, the perfect fit.

Devon, the watchmaker of the aerospace industry Devon is the materialisation of the dream of its great spearhead: Scott Devon. This American entrepreneur’s family worked in the packaged food business, but he obviously took a different pathway. He founded his own company with the goal of manufacturing something that the Swiss watchmaking industry could never make.

The former is in charge of MandA Events, an agency devoted to philanthropy and holding charitable events. The latter is one of the most famous Latina actresses on the entire planet. We have spoken with them to learn more about their work.

María Bravo: Haciendo una película que co-protagonizábamos.

Eva Longoria: Nos hicimos amigas de inmediato, era como si nos conociéramos de toda la vida. María es una persona honrada, humilde, inteligente, una persona en la que puedes confiar. Tiene fuertes valores y es una de mis mejores amigas. ¡La quiero! ¡La adoro! ¿Qué objetivos querían cumplir con la Global Gift Gala de Marbella?

EL: Recaudar fondos para niños y familias con necesidades especiales, tanto locales como internacionales.

MB: Sobretodo, nos hemos centrado en organizaciones benéficas de Marbella. Es una ciudad especial, pero qué voy a decir, soy de aquí.

MB: Surgió de la necesidad de hacer algo espiritual, algo que completase las ideas con las que fui educada. ¿De qué se sienten más orgullosas ahora?

EL: Yo creo que lo más importante es poder darse cuenta de que las cosas van cambiando poco a poco, ¡pero cambian! Con esfuerzo y buena voluntad todo es posible.

MB: Básicamente de poder hacerlo y bien, porque es así como las organizaciones reciben una ayuda realmente efectiva. ¿Es importante para este tipo eventos el hecho de contar con la presencia celebridades?

MB: Por supuesto, ¡es fundamental! Al menos para nosotros que somos una fundación dedicada a ayudar no solo económicamente sino a través de una exposición mediática que se haga eco de su voz.

Señora Longoria, usted además de colaborar con la Global Gift Gala, es portavoz nacional de PADRES contra el Cáncer y ha trabajado para ayudar a la comunidad latina. ¿Qué le motiva a tener este compromiso tan fuerte?

Mi motivación siempre ha sido mi madre y mis hermanas, en especial mi hermana Lisa, que requiere necesidades especiales.

El evento consiste en un cena benéfica en la que cada comensal contribuye con entre 500 y 1.000 euros.

El dinero recaudado se destina a varias organizaciones benéficas, entre las que se encuentra la Fundación Bertín Osborne y otras asociadas a la lucha contra el cáncer, el parkinson o el autismo.

Eva Longoria: We became friends immediately. It was as if we had known each other our entire lives. Maria is a very honest, humble, intelligent person, a person you can trust. She has strong values and is one of my best friends. I love her! I adore her!

Global Gift Gala, a model of success María Bravo has managed to bring to Marbella a huge number of stars for the Global Gift Gala (a total of nine galas of this kind will be held in nine different countries). The event consists of a benefit dinner in which each diner contributes between 500 and 1,000 euros.

The money raised is earmarked to different charitable organisations, including the Bertín Osborne Foundation and other associated with the fight against cancer, Parkinson’s and autism.

The dinner, which is for more than 350 guests, was designed by award-winning chef Martín Berasategui. It was attended by celebrities from all over the world, from actor Terrence Howard to artist Pixie Lott and actor Anaury Velasco, known for his role in the series Prison Break.

This is the first watch from the collection unveiled in 2000. It had a 43 mm case supplied by MRP which housed an automatic manufacture 13 line calibre GP033C0, which offered 46 hours of reserve power. Thanks to this calibre, its dial shows the chronograph displays, the world times, the day/night display and the date in an aperture on the perimeter.

Se aumentaba la altura (hasta los 13,54 mm) de la misma para albergar un nuevo calibre automático (GP3387) que incorporaba la función flyback al mecanismo del crono.
