En su cuarto torneo, el RBC Canadian Open, el de Barrika, de 21 años, terminó segundo y pudo haber forzado el desempate con el venezolano Jhonattan Vegas si llega a embocar el putt de tres metros para eagle en el último hoyo. Gracias a esa segunda plaza, ascendió 136 puestos en el ranking mundial, hasta la142. Con sólo cuatro torneos en su haber, Rahm ya se ha asegurado la tarjera para la próxima temporada del PGA Tour. Sus ganancias se acercaban a los 900.000 dólares en su primer mes como golfista profesional, eso sólo en premios, sin contar sus contratos de publicidad con las grandes marcas.

Thanks to this runner-up finish, Rahm rose 136 places in the world rankings, to 142nd; and, after just four tournaments, he secured his Tour card for the following season. His winnings for just one month as a professional golfer totalled nearly $900,000, without taking into account his lucrative endorsement contracts with top brands.
