1. HOW DOES MALONE GOLF CLUB USE GLF GENIUS?
We first introduced it during COVID-19 as a contactless, paperless solution for scorecards and event management across our member competitions. For corporate golf events, Golf Genius has been particularly valuable. Features like live scoring through the app—allowing players to input scores as they progress— add to the overall experience. Players love the live leaderboard function too.
2. HAS GOLF GENIUS HELPED MALONE GOLF CLUB TO INCREASE REVENUE?
I don’t necessarily add extra fees solely for using Golf Genius, but it allows me to justify modest increases in package pricing by showing clear value to members and visitors. This additional tool has been instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction and competitiveness. The added value from live scoring and event branding makes it easier to justify pricing to clients and drive that area of our business.
3. HAVE YOU FELT WELL SUPPORTED DURING THE PROCESS?
The support from Golf Genius has been excellent from the start. Having a local representative available for assistance is invaluable. I’ve encountered the odd last-minute issue and the support team has resolved them quickly, often while I’m still on the phone with them. Their responsiveness—even on weekends— has been critical, given that our operations run seven days a week. The ability to count on their support gives us confidence in the product.
4. HOW WILL GOLF GENIUS BE INTEGRATED INTO MORE COMPETITIONS AT THE CLUB?
We are still only scratching the surface of what Golf Genius can do. At present, we use Golf Genius more as a standalone product, particularly for corporate events. However, I see opportunities to expand its integration in the future. There are features we haven’t fully explored yet, such as handicapping integrations and registration tools for open competitions. During our annual Open Week in July, we’ll incorporate more of those capabilities in to improve the experience for visitors.
