Welcome to the new format ILLEX 2019 catalogue. Our team of European anglers and testers have developed a wealth of new products designed for technical lure fishing. New products add a modern twist to our extensive range of tried and trusted classics. We have added new rod models to our existing ranges and introduced a new LAKE MASTER rod series developed specifically for reservoir trout fishing. No less than 31 new soft and hard lures designed by Seiji Kato, Koichi Fujimatsu and their team are included this year. Many of our classic lure models have had a makeover with exciting new colour schemes. Check out the great LAKE MASTER range of hard lures and spoons developed for trout lure fishing on reservoirs. A top end float tube made from high quality materials used for inflatable boat manufacture. Stable, tough and discrete with a V profile that makes this float tube easy to manoeuvre. This tube features plenty of details thought out by our team such as two independent air chambers each with a security valve. Each air chamber features a clever set of rings under the side pocket for attaching accessories or rod rests. The seat and backrest are also inflatable from a single valve. Two removable side pockets featuring internal separators, pockets with rubber mesh and fully waterproof with a double zipper (58*22*11cm). Two scratch bands at the front of each air chamber will let you store 3 rods, I security rail with a fish net and centimetre ruler built in. 6 welded stainless D rings are there to tie up the tube. 3 well placed carry handles and 2 rucksack traps make transporting the tube very easy. The GANTAREL is a jointed swimbait that oozes realism. The 3 piece jointed body gives the bait a swaying swimming action that looks just like a pumpkin seed fish. This nervous swimming action is reinforced by feather teasers fixed to the hook attachments. The two pectoral fins act like a lip and allow the bait to dive to about a meter deep. The eye attaching your line to the front of the lure has a rolling swivel to avoid the chance of any line twist. A second fixing eye is located under the chin to change the swimming action or allow you to add some weight and transform the GANTAREL into a slow sinking swimbait or fish it unloaded as a reasonable sized wakebait for rapid surface fishing. The RISERBAIT 015P is a flapper style popper lure fitted with an additional metal lip to create a more erratic darting swimming action. The perforated mouth generates splashes of water and leaves a trail of bubbles in its wake that flash and sparkle enticingly like a fleeing prey fish. The lure works best with fish that respond to flapper style baits and work particularly well at imitating the fish feeling from trevally and tuna attacks. The bubbles trail confuses fish and provokes them to take this bait even if it is larger than the rest of the prey fish being chased. The lure is dense for its size and this helps casting even in tricky windy conditions. Our Illex Flat Tricoroll 55 S is the stand-out new trout product for the 2018 season! The fruit of close collaboration between the Illex Stream Master team and Koichi Fujimatsu, famous lure designer with Japanese company Jackall. Final design details were agreed during a series of intensive field tests in Normandy last July. The result is a quick sinking minnow featuring a more compressed body shape that the original. Flattening the body helps cut through the water column so the lure reaches the river bed faster. The Flat Tricoroll starts working immediately with a distinctive rolling action as it drops through the water that continues as you fish downstream or ¾ downstream drifts – following the lure with the rod held high and the line quite slack. Because of the pressure exerted by the current minimal movements are all you need to keep the lure working. The triangular lip shape keeps the lure stable even in fast broken water. Try classic twitching and jerking to provoke takes from wary trout. Perfect on any trout water, the stable body design is particularly suited to more turbulent river sections or deeper slow reaches where simple water pressure and tiny rod movements are enough to set the lure fluttering attractively. It is not surprising that the Japanese have christened the Flat Tricoroll “the dancer!” . Sure to be the big hit of 2018.

TRICOROLL 70 SHW The Tricoroll Ryushin 70 SHW is set to become your new favourite lure for big trout, sea trout and salmon. Along with the Flat Tricoroll this lure is the fruit of intense collaboration between our ILLEX Stream Master team and Koichi Fujimatsu- lure designer from the famous Jackal lure company. We have been able to tailor Japanese lure fishing savoir-faire to meet the needs of European anglers and rivers. This is a super heavyweight minnow that can be cast to extreme distances and sinks quickly to get down to the lower layers in big rivers where the flow is less strong and where big fish are often holed up. The lure starts working as it drops with a strong rolling action that also works well on downstream and ¾ downstream casts. Fished downstream the lure can be twitched and jerked with minimalist movements against the flow of the river. A versatile lure that can be fished on any water but the streamlined body works best in either strong flowing sections where it will hug the bottom or in very slow sections where tiny rod movements will set the lure rolling and turning. To avoid snags the belly hook is attacked to a 360 degree rolling swivel. The design is also deadly on species like asp, perch and bass. This will be the best river lure of the season! The name tells it all – Ryushin in Japanese translates as middle of the river!

This is the latest in the TN lipless series. The TRIGON features an oversized raindrop shaped weight that can be attached to its lip. This adds weight for distance casting and allows the lure to be fished deep and sink fast. Particularly useful when the fish are hugging the bottom or are posted too deep for normal plugs to reach. Perfectly dimensioned for ultra-slow bottom fishing but has all the same great characteristics as other TN lures so can equally be fished fast and straight or with more jerky saw-teeth type retrieves. The rattle system gives off attractive deep vibrations typical of all TN lures. Available in 60 and 70mm lengths.

The Dexter Shad is a hyper-realistic lure flavoured to the core in our famous Nitro Booster shellfish attractant. Made from an incredibly soft material that is easy for fish to swallow and dense enough to be skipped round structures and obstacles. The body shape produces a strong rolling action no matter what shape or weight of jig head you use. The extra-large tail vibrates at the slightest movement creating strong rapid vibrations. The action is particularly deadly when vertical fishing, on straight retrieves and for working round weedbeds or marginal shelves where predators like to take cover. DEXTER SHAD UV Dexter Shad series of hand poured lures developed in partnership with Kay Steinwerth, official team ILLEX guide best known for his success with specimen pike and zander at Rügen in Germany and his expert knowledge of UV colours. The UV Dexter Shad series are made from tender rubber and come in 5 sizes and 6 colours developed for very specific fishing conditions. UV Bomb = Coloured water, dawn and dusk fishing. Salt & pepper Green belly = Clear to slightly coloured water. Blue & white Orange belly = Sunny conditions or water coloured green or brown. Duckling = Clear water and slight coloured green/brown. Crystal Alewife = Clear or slightly green tinged water. Magical shad = Clear or deep water with cloudy conditions. The hand poured manufacturing process lets us incorporate reflective glitter beads in the rubber and mix two or three colours perfectly to create contrasting colour layers that work at the low, medium or high ends of the UV spectrum. Each lure is impregnated with our great Nitro Booster shellfish attractant.

MAGIC WOODLOUSE 1,18” The Woodlouse is a supple floating lure shaped like an insect designed to target smaller predators like bass, perch, asp, trout and chub. The body has a hollow cavity that give off vibrations in the water. The whole bait is designed to imitate as closely as possible a natural insect. Fit this lure on to a Finesse Down Shot or Finesse Guard no. 3 hook hooking it though the head between the two antennas. This way the lure will stay balanced. Once you let the bait go in the flow it can be worked with subtle shakes of the rod just slightly agitating the bait. The excitement when you watch a fish take it off the surface is sure to get your heart racing!
MAGIC MAY FLY The Magic May Fly is an incredible 3-in-1 lure. It has the silhouette of a May fly larvae whilst the appendices give it great mobility and attractiveness in the water. Finally fished on a micro head it looks like a small beetle larvae or caterpillar –great bounced along the flow seeking out fish feeding on small insects on the riverbed. On the way down the jig has a lazy wobbling action interrupted by sudden twitches and sideways darts generated by the large asymmetrical body shape. Welcome to the new format ILLEX 2019 catalogue. Our team of European anglers and testers have developed a wealth of new products designed for technical lure fishing. New products add a modern twist to our extensive range of tried and trusted classics. We have added new rod models to our existing ranges and introduced a new LAKE MASTER rod series developed specifically for reservoir trout fishing. No less than 31 new soft and hard lures designed by Seiji Kato, Koichi Fujimatsu and their team are included this year.
