WELCOME TO THE

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th JULY 2024

2023 Winners: Jacob Aitken and Amity Bickley

CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME

On behalf of the Board of Directors and members of Club Tweed, I have very great pleasure in extending a warm welcome to all players, their families and spectators to the 2024 Junior Golden Nugget.

This event is recognised as one of the best junior tournaments in Australia and we have invited 40 talented girls and boys from all over Australia and New Zealand to play in this prestigious event. I am sure they will give a top display of competitive and skillful bowling.

This competition is a fitting prelude to our Golden Nugget which commences on Monday the 29th of July. It is hoped the young players who play in the Junior Golden Nugget will one day earn the right to receive an invitation to play in, what we consider, is our most prestigious tournament.

Club Tweed is pleased to be able to support the up and coming champions of tomorrow, and with events such as this, Club Tweed is playing its part, not only in the promotion of the sport of bowls, but in giving youngsters the

chance to develop their skills and go on to become champions. I recognise the support of family and carers in this event and know that all players will be keen to make their supporters proud of both their skills and attitude.

I wish each contestant good luck, and good bowling, and hope you find the experience rewarding.

I would like thank Wayne Turley and Emma Boyd for their organisation of this event as well as the volunteer markers, umpires and others that play a critical part in making the event successful.
