SENIORS FESTIVAL

returns to Golden Plains

Council is encouraging its senior community to get out and about during the 2022 Victorian Seniors Festival.

Council’s Positive Ageing team have developed a timetable of local events throughout October, with opportunities for participants to get active with walking and exercise groups; get out and about with local trips and activities; and engage with other seniors while enjoying music and games. As part of the calendar of events, Council will be hosting two celebrations open to all seniors in the Shire: • T uesday 4 October from 12.30 to 2.30pm: International Day for Older Persons Celebration at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn The Expand Your Impact initiative challenges residents, businesses and organisations to think differently and grow their success by subscribing to receive resources, attending online workshops and joining a supportive network.

Council has partnered with Make a Change to deliver the Expand Your Impact online initiative.

Delivered by Make a Change in collaboration with Golden Plains Shire and five other regional partners, it is a free program that runs from October 2022 to March 2023. To find out more information, and to register visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/news.

Applications for the second round of Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program are open until 2pm, Friday 30 September, with grants of up to $10,000 available in four streams: Healthy Active Living; Creative Community; Environment and Sustainability; Community Safety.
