コンサート・マーチ「アライズ・マイ・ミューズ !!」

2011 年に発表したブラスバンドのための作品（福岡フローリッシュブラス委嘱） を 2024 年にウインドオーケストラ用に改編したものです。
一般的な行進曲の形式をほぼ踏襲してはいますが、前半は（K.J.アルフォードな どの作品にみられるような）「序奏~A~B~A」という三部形式を少し広げ、「序奏 ~A~B~A~C~A」という形を採っています（この形式は 2022 年に作曲した行進曲「神 宿る島より」でも採られています）。トリオでは、優美な旋律が歌われ、その後、ブ リッジ グランディオーソ コーダと構成されています。特にブリッジとコーダの部 分では、序奏と前半の A のモティーフを再現することにより作品に変化とストーリ ー性、統一感を持たせようと試みています。
タイトルの「アライズ・マイ・ミューズ !!」には、演奏していただく方々、聴い たいただく方々の「内なるミューズ」を喚起できれば、という想いが込められてい ます（イギリスの大作曲家 H.パーセルの作品に同名のオード（頌歌）があります）。
大編成のスコアですが、中編成のバンドでも演奏可能でしょう（バンドの実情に 合わせ楽器を置き換えるなど工夫できると思います）。

Concert March for Wind Orchestra

This is a revised version for wind orchestra (in 2024) of a work for brass band published in 2011(commissioned by Fukuoka Flourish Brass)
The first half of the piece follows the general form of a march, but the three-part form ‘Introduction~A~B~A’ (as in the works of Kenneth Joseph Alford and others) is slightly extended to ‘ Introduction~A~B~A~C~A’ (this form is also used in the March ‘From the Sacred Island’, composed in 2022). In the ‘Trio’, a graceful melody is sung, followed by a bridge, grandioso and coda. In the bridge and coda, the motifs of the ‘Introduction’ and ‘A’ of the first half are repeated in an attempt to create variety, narrative and unity in the work.
The title ‘Arise, my muse !!’ is intended to evoke the ‘inner muse’ of the performers and listeners (there is an ode of the same name by the great British composer Henry Purcell).
The score is intended for wind orchestra, but may be performed by a medium-sized band (you may wish to replace the instruments with those of your own band).
