2020 年に飯塚高校吹奏楽部の委嘱により、オオサカ・シオン・ウインド・オーケストラのメンバーによる金管五重奏「オオサカ・ブラスターズ （Osaka Brassters）」のために作曲。作曲するにあたり大阪らしい曲にしたいと考え、「浪速のモーツァルト」キダタロー氏の作風を参考にし た。
曲は陽気で軽快なマーチで始まり、御堂筋を走る車のクラクションや地下鉄（大阪メトロ）を連想させるフレーズを挟みながら進むが、[G]の 前で molt rit.して一転、ブルージーなセクションになる。ここの Trb.のオブリガートは、グリッサンドを誇張したほうが面白いだろう。Trb.の 短いカデンツァの後マーチに戻り、Tuba Solo から Tutti になりコーダに入る。最後から 2 小節前のフレーズはダブルタンギングの指定だが、 グロウル(Growl)でやっても面白い。

Midosuji Rhapsody（Duration: approx. 2 min. 50 sec.）
In 2020, commissioned by the Iizuka High School Wind Ensemble, I composed a piece for the brass quintet “Osaka Brassters” performed by members of the Osaka Shion Wind Orchestra. When composing, I wanted to create a piece that reflected the spirit of Osaka, so I drew inspiration from the style of Kida Taro, known as the “Mozart of Naniwa.”
The piece begins with a cheerful and lively march, interspersed with phrases reminiscent of car horns on Midosuji Street and the Osaka Metro subway. However, before the [G] section, it suddenly shifts to a bluesy section with a molt rit. The trombone obbligato here would be more interesting if the glissando is exaggerated. After a short trombone cadenza, the march resumes, leading into a tuba solo that transitions to tutti and enters the coda. The phrase two measures before the end is specified as double tonguing, but using a Growl could also be interesting.
