JEWELLERY

Lords of the RINGS Turn your beloved jewellery pieces from dated and tired to timeless treasures

When someone decides to remodel a jewellery piece, there is usually a great deal of sentiment attached to the specimens to be made over. It may be a piece that belonged to a relative that may no longer be with us or something that has been given with a great deal of love. In this particular case, special clients come to us after being engaged for 10 years. Time, as it often does, slipped away and things got postponed. After buying a house and starting a family, they finally decided to tie the knot but felt the original ring needed some updating. On this occasion and after careful inspection, an upgrade was promised which would add to the original engagement ring. We sat down with the bride-to-be and listened to what she had in mind, taking careful note of what they already had in relation to diamonds and gold. Our ideas were then combined and using a CAD design we could show the couple exactly what the end result would look like.

Fine tuning is done at this stage, suggestions are offered, alterations to the design are made thus ensuring the client is completely satisfied with the final look of the ring. One specific request was that the client wanted the work performed by hand. This is craftsmanship of the highest order and involves processing the existing metal into a workable state, and then using fabrication techniques of rolling, shaping, filing, and joining the raw material to match the design required.
