CLEMENS-AUGUST-SCHULE - DENKMALGERECHTE UMNUTZUNG Das Baudenkmal war im Jahre 1900 von der Stadt als Internat für katholische Gymnasiasten errichtet worden und ist heute als Schulgebäude für eine städtische Ganztagshauptschule in Benutzung. Der Hoftrakt schließt rückwärtig an den Haupttrakt an und beinhaltete ursprünglich die hauseigene, im Grundriss kreuzförmige Kapelle.

Diese war seit dem späten 20.Jahrhundert als Aula mit Bühnenraum genutzt worden.

Da die Aula in einem Neubau untergebracht wurde, sollte der nun zur Verfügung stehende Raum für die dringend notwendige Erweiterung des Lehrerzimmers und der Verwaltung umgebaut werden.

CLEMENS AUGUST SCHOOL - LISTED BUILDING CONVERSION Now a listed building, it was erected in 1900 by the city as a boarding school for Catholic grammar pupils and is today used as a school building for a state-run all-day secondary school. The quadrangle wing abuts the main wing at the rear and contains the school’s own original chapel, with its cross-shaped floorplan.

From the late twentieth century, this had been used as an assembly hall with stage area. Since later building work had provided a new assembly hall, the available space was now to be converted into a much-needed extension to the teaching staff and administration rooms.

RECONVERSION CONFORME AUX LOIS DE PROTECTION DU PATRIMOINE Le monument historique a été construit par la ville en 1900 en tant internat pour lycéens catholiques et sert aujourd'hui de bâtiment scolaire pour une Hauptschule municipale à journée continue. L'aile de la cour se rattache par l'arrière à l'aile principale. À l'origine, elle renfermait la chapelle de la maison conçue en forme de croix.

Depuis la fin du 20ème siècle, celle-ci était utilisée comme amphithéâtre disposant d’un espace scénique. L'amphithéâtre ayant été placé dans un nouveau bâtiment, l'espace désormais disponible devait être transformé pour l'agrandissement absolument nécessaire de la salle des professeurs et de l'administration.

In dem denkmalgerechten Umnutzungskonzept wurde der Kapellenraum in seiner vollen Größe

wiederhergestellt.

Um den Raum als Ganzes erlebbar zu machen, sind die Verwaltungsräume als gläserner, eingeschossiger Baukörper in den Kapellenraum mit Abstand zur Innenfassade eingestellt.

The conversion plan stayed true to the school’s listed building status, restoring the chapel space to its former size. So the room can be experienced as a whole, the admin offices have been constructed as an all-glass, single-storey structure in the chapel space, offset from the interior facade.

Dans le concept de reconversion conforme aux lois de protection du patrimoine, la salle de la chapelle a été reconstruite dans sa taille réelle. Pour rendre l'ensemble de la salle vivable, les salles de l'administration sont intégrées en tant que corps de bâtiment en verre d'un étage dans la salle de la chapelle, de manière distancée par rapport à la façade intérieure.

Der Freiraum dient hierbei als kommunikative Bewegungsfläche und zur Anbindung der geschossverbindenden, offenen Treppen. Auf dem gläsernen Einbau entstand eine offene Galerie als Arbeitsfläche für Lehrer mit direkter Treppenverbindung in das darüber liegende Geschoss.

Here, the free space created provides a communicative, dynamic area and access to the open staircase connecting the storeys. Situated atop the all-glass module is an open gallery, providing working space for teaching staff with a direct staircase connection to the floor above.

L'espace libre sert alors de surface de mouvement communicative et de connexion pour les escaliers ouverts reliant l'étage.

Sur le corps en verre intégré, une galerie ouverte a été conçue en tant que zone de travail pour les professeurs. Elle prévoit une connexion directe par escalier permettant d'accéder à l'étage supérieur.
