Founded in 1954 by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Holy Family University is a comprehensive four-year university based in Philadelphia. Continuing education and accelerated degree programs are offered by the Division of Extended Learning. CACC The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference is an NCAA Division II Conference composed of 14 institutions in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The member institutions are Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Chestnut Hill College, Concordia (NY) College, Dominican (N.Y.) College, Felician College, Georgian Court University, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family University, Nyack College, Philadelphia University, Post University, University of the Sciences and Wilmington University. The CACC was founded in 1961. A meeting of eight schools was arranged and hosted by Norm Wilhelmi, Athletic Director at The King's (NY) College. The meeting resulted in the forming a new conference, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. The conference included eight original members in the fall of 1961. They were Bloomfield College, Dowling College, The King's College, Marist College, Monmouth College, Nyack College, C.W. Post College and Southampton College. After years of transition and membership changes, NAIA members Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Georgian Court College, Nyack College, Teikyo- Post University and St. Thomas Aquinas College made application to the NCAA Division II. The seven schools applied for membership in the fall of 1998. In 2002 the CACC qualified for NCAA Division II Provisional Conference Status and it achieved Active Status in July of 2004. Six schools: Bloomfield College, Caldwell College, Dominican College, Felician College, Georgian Court College and Post University, became full Division II members in 2002-03. Holy Family College, Goldey-Beacom College, Nyack College and University of the Sciences in Philadelphia became active DII members in 2003-04, followed by Wilmington College in 2004-05. During the span from 1999-2009, the conference underwent numerous changes in addition to upgrading to Division II. In 1999, St. Thomas Aquinas left the conference and five new members joined. Felician College, Goldey-Beacom College, Holy Family College, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Wilmington College, all NAIA schools, immediately ap-

plied for Division II status upon becoming members. In 2000, New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) boosted the membership to 12 schools and that number grew to 13 in 2005 as Philadelphia University started active membership. NJIT moved on to Division I status after the 2005-06 season. The addition of Chestnut Hill College in 2007 and Concordia College in 2009 brought the CACC to 14 members. Only four conferences in Division II have more members. The CACC currently offers 13 championship sports, including men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's golf and women's lacrosse. Currently, nine of the CACC's season-ending tournaments lead to automatic NCAA qualifications, including women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's basketball, softball, baseball and men's golf.

the number of names on the list continues to grow each year. The CACC honored 285 scholar-athletes in 2010-2011. The CACC has also become one of the national leaders in the annual Division II Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraiser. The 13 CACC schools raised $12,218 in 200809, the eighth-highest total in Division II. Division II is composed of 23 conferences and seven independent institutions ranging from coast-to-coast-and beyond. Division II is the only NCAA membership division with programs in Alaska and Puerto Rico. Furthermore, four of the five colleges on Hawaii are members of Division II.

With its ascent to active Division II status, the Conference made major improvements by introducing a new website and logo. Both were unveiled in July of 2004. The website, www.caccathletics.org, contains updated stats, schedules, results, photos and news about all 14 member schools. The site underwent a complete redesign in the summer of 2009 and is scheduled for another in 2012. The CACC adopted its current logo from a design submitted by Royal Rooster Design of Iowa. In 2009, the CACC commissioned seperate logos for each conference sport and in 2010 added championship tournament logos for all sports. A 50th Anniversary Logo was created for the 2011-2012 academic year. The logos are trademarked through an agreement with Strategic Marketing Alliance (SMA) to protect and market the CACC marks. Off the court and field, the CACC and its student-athletes take pride in the balance between academics and athletics. The CACC finished third nationally among Division II Conferences for the graduation rate of its student-athletes, according to the latest NCAA report. Furthermore, the conference established its inaugural All-Academic team in the fall of 2004 and http://athletics.holyfamily.edu | 4

2012-13 Season Outlook

Tigers Ready for the Next Step; Eye Second Straight Postseason Appearance in 2012-13 Holy Family will have its sights set for big things this year after coming off the team’s best season since 2007-08. Under the guidance of second year head coach R.C. Kehoe, the Tigers will look to copy last year’s success and take the next step in their quest for a conference championship. Holy Family is coming off a year that saw the Tigers record their best finish since the 2007-08 season, wrapping up the year with a 12-14 record. Holy Family qualified for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament for the first time since 2009 as the Tigers earned the eighth seed after finishing 8-9 in conference play. Holy Family returns seven players from last year’s squad, including All-CACC selections in senior Khiry Hankins (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Summit Country Day School) and junior Alberto Munoz (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons). This year’s roster will also feature six newcomers. Hankins, who earned All-CACC (third team) honors for the first time in his career last season, finished the year averaging 16.8 points per game, which was sixth best in the CACC. He also finished third in the conference for most three-pointers made with 81. Munoz supplied the Tigers with an additional deep threat from beyond the arc as he averaged a career-best 14.9 points per game, while knocking down 58 three-pointers. 13| Holy Family Tigers Men’s Basketball 2012-13

Hankins and Munoz are just a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to the Tigers’ guard play. Holy Family is loaded at the guard position as each player brings something different to the table. “The strength of most Division II teams are their backcourt,” said Kehoe. “We will be no different. When you could put four guys on the floor like we can with Khiry [Hankins], Angel [Ayala], Alberto [Munoz] and Ervin [Ezell] it gives us multiple weapons that can shoot and beat the opponent off the dribble.” In his first season with the Tigers, Ayala appeared in all 26 games and started 14. He averaged 9.8 points per game and dished out a team-high 75 assists. He also grabbed 7.7 rebounds per contest. Holy Family also welcomes back senior Maurice Hargrove (Philadelphia, Pa./Martin Luther King), junior Ben Savidge (Reading, Pa./Exeter) and sophomore Eric Fleming (Philadelphia, Pa./ Archbishop Ryan) at the guard position. Fleming appeared in 25 games, including 11 starts in his freshman season. He averaged 6.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game. He also knocked down 38 three-pointers to finish third on the team.

2012-13 Season Outlook schedule] staring us in our face I think it was a little crazy, but as a coach you can be a little crazy with the schedule when you have a group of players committed and ready to take on any challenge.” On top of the Tigers’ challenging non-conference schedule, the team will also compete in 17 CACC contests. It’ll be a tough-competitive road for the Tigers as they look to build off last year’s success and return to the CACC Tournament. Despite the journey ahead, Kehoe feels his team is ready with a plan in place to be successful. “We have a model of 1-0,” said Kehoe on how the team is approaching this season. “It is not just what we follow for games, but on a daily basis. If we could go 1-0 everyday, whether it is in the weight room, at practice or in a game, when they collect the uniforms [at the end of the year] we should be looking back at a very successful season.” In the addition to Ezell, the Tigers will also have the addition of sophomore transfer Xavier Williams (Philadelphia, Pa./Saul) and freshman Tuhran Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Learning Center) at the guard position. At the forward position, Holy Family has brought in a few new weapons to help replace the presence of the nation’s top shotblocker in Rickie Crews (Deptford, N.J./Deptford) who graduated. Last year, Crews blocked 100 shots as he led all of Division II with 3.8 blocks per game.

Kehoe continues about the CACC, “If you look deeper into the CACC it is completely opposite than my first year. Coming into last season, nine of the 15 All-CACC selections were seniors. Now, entering the 2012-13 campaign, the number of really good returning players from top to bottom is quite frankly staggering. If all the individual players compete and play to their potential we won’t have enough slots for the amount of talent that should be recognized [on all-conference].

“With the addition of Hunter [Wysocki], Isaiah [Gans] and having Richard [Council] back it gives us an extremely young but promising front court,” said Kehoe. “The thing that excites me is that we recruited a front court with no mirror images.
