A strange first meeting „This can’t be happening to me,“ Maria thought. She doesn’t know where she is. She got lost in the mountains when she went hiking there. „Why did I have to leave the hiking path? Everything looks the same right here! There are trees everywhere.“ It gets dark and the weather gets cloudy and cold. Maria hears something from out of the woods. „A wolf?“ Maria instantly sprints to find the way out of the forest. While she walks she screams for help. Because of the fear she doesn’t pay attention to the ground she trips and falls. „Ouch!“ Meanwhile, a boy called Hugo goes on a class trip. He wasn’t very happy because he doesn’t want to be together with his class. He prefers being alone. During the first night he couldn’t sleep because his classmates are too loud so he decides to sneak out. While he’s walking he hears a scream and follows the noise. He wants to know who is screaming and where does it come from. As soon as he enters the forest he witnesses a young woman lying on the ground. He comes towards her and asked: „Are you okay? What happened to you?“ „I fell and I can’t get up because I hurt my leg,“ Maria explains. Hugo tries to help her up but accidently lets go of her. „Ouch!“ Maria screamed. „Oops! I’m sorry!“ He tries to help her up again. „I know a shortcut down. Shall we try it?“ Maria nods and they try to get down as fast as possible. Halfway down they find a huge field filled with flowers. They look around and see that the sun is already rising. Hugo sees some smoke coming out of a chimney. „There is a house over there. Let’s go there and warm up.“ They walk towards the house and see that it’s a cafeteria. They go This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. inside and order a hot chocolate to warm up. After that they have a conversation. „Are you feeling better?“ Hugo asks. „Yes, thank you for helping me!“ Maria answers. „So I don’t know your name yet. I’m Maria.“ „Nice to meet you Maria. I’m Hugo. So what exactly happened to you out there?“ Maria explains: „Well... I’m a tourist from Spain and I wanted to go hiking. But because the path was so boring I wanted to see more and I got lost. And after that you found me. But why are you here? Do you live here?“ „No,“ Hugo explained, „I’m on a school trip but it was so loud in the hotel that I had to get out of there. And then I heard you scream and tried to find you.“ They look out of the window. It’s sunny and it seems to get warmer. „Ugh... Couldn’t that weather appear earlier? That would have made things easier.“ „Anyway. How long will you stay in France?“ „Well... I have to leave tomorrow to be honest.“ Maria explained. „Oh, that’s sad. But maybe we can meet again before you leave. Do you know where the square is? It’s not far from here.“ Hugo gives her a map with the square on it. „Okay, I’ll be there. I just hope the weather will be better than last night,“ She jokes around. „Great! I have to go now, but I’ll see you tomorrow morning then, okay?“ „Yes! I’ll be there. Bye.“ The next morning before Maria leaves they meet one last time. Hugo brings her a present to say goodbye to her. They exchange each others’ phone numbers and social media accounts to stay in contact. They hug to say goodbye and Maria leaves to go back to Spain. A few months later they meet again in Spain. Maria invites Hugo to stay with her for a week or two. She shows him around the place where she lives and they visit a fountain which is very popular in Spain. While being there he confesses to her that he has feelings for her. She accepts his feelings and they kiss. They spend the

Fifty Shades of Peter

’’This can’t be happening to me,’’ Peter thought. Peter had just found out that his father died. ’’Oh my Gosh!’’ he shouted, he was really depressed to hear that his father had finally died of diabetes. Peter was a famous European businessman from Sweden, but now he is living in France. Peter wasn’t happy because he had everything, but love. In France, he has a big house on the beach, where he lives alone. The weather is always sunny there. After hearing about his father’s death, he decided to move back to his hometown in Sweden. Peter used to be very poor during his school time and he grew up in a forest with his father. His father was a hunter and his mother died when he was born. His father supported him in everything. Peter got off the plane in Sweden on a cloudy day. Right after his arrival, he started organizing his father’s funeral. After he had paid for the expenses, he sent out the invitations. He even sent an invitation to the girl he fell in love with in his childhood and was great friends with. The girl’s name was Alicia. Alicia was very beautiful, she had long blonde wavy hair and bright blue eyes. When Peter told her how much he loved her, she rejected him. After rejection Peter started begging her, but it didn’t work. The funeral day was quite rainy and Alicia was the first person Peter saw. ’’Oh dear!, I’m so sorry for your father’s death!’’ she said. When the funeral ended, they went for a walk in Peter’s favourite park. They talked about what they had been doing all these years, but Peter kept it a secret that he is a rich businessman. They had long conversations about their school time and their past relationship. She said, ’’You know... when we were young, I rejected you, because I wasn’t ready for a close relationship. I have thought about This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. it many times and I think that I still have strong feelings for you...’’. That made Peter happy and made him feel better in that sad time. Peter told her that he will be flying back to France tomorrow and offered Alicia to come with him. Alicia agreed to the offer. After arriving at Peter’s place in France, Alicia was surprised and demanded Peter to tell her how could he afford all these expensive things. Peter admitted to being a famous businessman. Alicia first got mad that Peter didn’t tell her that, but also had to admit one thing to Peter. ’’Actually I have to confess something too. Peter, I’m sick... I have brain cancer...’’. Peter was sad, but he promised to do everything for her and get her to the best hospitals possible. Written by Mariann, Wanda, Taimo, Kerem, Ronny, Joan, Erwan, Krisjan

The New Section of Her Life “This can’t be happening to me,“ Andrea thought. Last thing she wanted to happen was this. Andrea got fired from her job, basically she hasn’t got enough money to continue living in a crowded city as Alcorcon (Madrid). After a week, Andrea decided to pack all her possessions and move to a German forest. Andrea has long dark hair, her eyes are as dark as her hair. She is 1,65 m tall but she is tiny. She is sad because she is no longer working, every day she had to take thousands of buses to go working to the centre of Madrid. Those buses were all crowded, her sadness went higher every time she entered a bus. One day she arrived late to her job, as always. That day the main boss was waiting for her, he glanced at her furiously. Andrea thought: “Wowwwwww, take it easy, man” after that though, she said what she was thinking. Immediately, her boss fired her. She came home sadly and thought about the whole situation. She started thinking of a new beginning, she always wanted to live in Germany and live in a forest. She was looking somewhere to live, so she decided to go to the Black Forest. She got a job offered from her “friend” Laura, that job consisted to drive a truck with trees. They agreed to meet the first day of March, then Laura will give her a wood house to live. She is super happy because of this new job. The first day she arrived there the weather was horrible, she was used to the warm Spanish weather. In the Black Forest the weather was cold. After nine months of tough working, the 2022 winter arrived, that winter was the coldest winter she had ever experienced. That winter was different, in comparison with the winters she lived before, that winter was evil. She was with the truck when suddenly it started to rain. Because of the nice view, she was watching a rainbow. She saw something strange at the end of it, she went with her amazing truck to see what was there. She saw there was a box. She got suspicious. She opened the box and there was a bomb. Next to the box there was a little lake. In the lake, there was one really interesting fish. It had three eyes. Suddenly it started screaming.“ AT THE END OF THE LAKE! AT THE END OF THE LAKE!”. Andrea was confused, she thought she was dreaming but she decided to believe it. When she arrived to the box, the fish suggested to put the bomb into the lake. The only citizen of the lake was that fish, he said to Andrea to put the bomb inside the lake because he didn't want to live anymore. Andrea said “I can't do this” to herself but she should do this. There is a bomb, if she doesn't do anything, it will explode. There will be more damage. She must do this. She must decide what to do quickly so she tried to put box in the lake but she couldn´t. It was so heavy. At that time Laura arrived to the lake with her truck, she saw her girlfriend and tried to help Andrea. Laura said „let me see if I can take it“ she couldn´t. With both strength, they put the bomb into the lake. After that action they got married. And they lived happily ever after.

The Power of Friendship

“This can’t be happening to me,” Paul thought. He was worrying about the reaction of his family to the situation. He recently lost his job and now they have to move to another country, Ireland. They weren’t able to pay the rent of their house. His daughter Lou has so many friends and opportunities here. So basically, she cannot imagine living somewhere else because she would lose everything she loves. The whole family was sitting in front of him. He took a deep breath and started to explain: “My boss talked to me today and said that they have to shut down the company because of economic reasons. But the good news are that a friend of mine offered me a job in Ireland. I could work there and earn much more money. We could have a better life.” “But my life in here…” Lou said. “I don’t want to lose my friends” She went to her room and started to cry. The next day Lou met her friends in their treehouse to explain the whole story. They couldn’t believe it. No one said anything. The treehouse was all quiet. But then suddenly Anna unsurely said: “We can collect money for the rent of your house so you can stay.” Then Beste interrupted her and said: “You are right Anna but didn’t Lou say that her father also lost his job? So we also have to solve this problem.” “Of course, we can.” said Anna. “But how are you going to manage that?” asked Lou. Riin suggested: “We can mow lawns, wash cars, deliver newspapers or organize an event.” They all started to talk messily for a while. After that everyone choose a job to collect money but nobody wanted to organize an event because they thought it would be too difficult. They did lots of jobs for weeks. But then, they realized that they couldn’t collect enough money. Hopelessly everyone went home in this evening, nobody This project has been funded with support from the European Commission. had any ideas. As Lou arrived home, she observed her parents whispering in the kitchen. They were talking about all those people who had lost their jobs. Therefore so many people cannot afford their life in here anymore and have to move somewhere else. After she heard that, an idea just popped up in her mind. Everyone has at least one talent that can be used. That’s why she wants to organize an event in which she will involve everyone, especially the ones who lost their jobs. Next day she called her friends excitingly and told them to meet her in the treehouse immediately. She declared her big idea to them. Everyone was convinced and liked the idea. That’s why, they started directly. They talked to as many people as they could in the town. They discovered that there were more people with talents than they thought. They found people that play instruments, draw nice paintings and posters, comedians, facilitators, dancers, singers and also food and drink sellers. They had everything to organize a festival except a big place. They went to ask many place owners. But none of them offered one of their places. The last possible option was to ask the mayor. They told him all the positive aspects of the event. The event would increase the economy because of rising tourism, there would be more jobs available and people can catch the city’s spirit again. After a long conversation the mayor agreed. The mayor gave them the most beautiful park of the town which has a big stage on it. Finally, the big day came. People who prepared for weeks were eager to show their talents. There was a massive amount of people from everywhere. The atmosphere was cheerful, flowers were blooming and the sun was shining. As a result everyone had a great time and was grateful to be a part of the festival. From now on they want to repeat it every year because of the smiles on people’s faces and the great profit. In the end the father has a job for the following years, nobody has to move away and everyone is happy. This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
