Entering a New World of Inclusivity!
Hello Colleagues,
At Godrej Properties, inclusivity isn’t a practice but a value deeply embedded in our DNA. I take pride in the strides that each employee has contributed towards making GPL more inclusive for women and LGBTQ+ community, ensuring that every employee feels a sense of belonging.
This year we are entering a new phase in strengthening our teams with ThisAble Me initiative. This is our effort to raise awareness of the challenges faced by Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and strengthen our work environment (physically, digitally, and emotionally) by being inclusive and accessible for PwD. The spirit of collaboration will continue with ThisAble Me, as we work towards an inclusive workplace for all.
Godrej Properties remains an Equal Opportunities Employer, dedicated to creating a workplace where no discrimination is tolerated, and inclusion is the default.
I urge each of you to actively engage in this initiative, driving the change needed to make GPL a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Chairperson, GPL

Inclusivity
is not just a social courtesy; it is a legal right.
This graph illustrates the varied landscape of disabilities in India.
Disability is not inability. It is a unique set of characteristics that may require different ways of navigating the world.
The Government of India safeguards the rights of PWD with the Rights for Persons With Disability Act of 2016.
RPWD ensures fair treatment and equal access to opportunities for persons with disability. It protects 21 conditions under its provisions.

GPL's view on disability
“Disability is not just a health problem. It is a complex phenomenon, reflecting the interaction between features of a person’s body and features of the society in which they live.”
- World Health Organization
We all face mismatched human interactions. Such interactions result in physical, social and cognitive exclusion.
As leaders in the real estate industry, it’s our responsibility to know how the spaces we create affect these interactions and create mismatches.

Disabilities Come in Different Shapes and Forms
When we recognize disability through the lens of ‘mismatched interactions’ it helps us to recognize our responsibility more clearly. It’s also necessary to understand that disability is context-dependent: meaning disability can be Permanent, Temporary and Situational.
Being mindful of the continuum from permanent disabilities to situational impairments helps us rethink how our environments and spaces can be accessible to more people in new ways.
The Persona Spectrum
The image on the left is called the Persona Spectrum which you can use to understand related mismatches and motivations across a spectrum of permanent, temporary, and situational scenarios. It’s a quick tool to help foster empathy and to show how a solution scales to a broader audience.

Designing Spaces that Empower Everyone!
Universal and accessible infrastructure is a sign of an inclusive culture.
It is more than just physical adaptations. It embodies an ethos of empowerment and dignity, ensuring that spaces are thoughtfully designed to accommodate diverse needs. From wheelchair ramps and tactile paths to visual aids and adaptive technologies, such infrastructure fosters independence, ease of movement, and equal access, creating environments where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive and participate fully.
Embracing Neurodiversity
In our commitment to inclusivity, we recognize and celebrate neurodiversity—an acknowledgment that neurological differences, such as autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, are natural variations of the human experience. At our core, we believe in fostering an environment that appreciates the unique strengths and perspectives neurodivergent individuals bring to our diverse workforce.
GPL Empowers Dyslexic Thinking
