Who is Koahnic? Headquartered at KNBA-Anchorage, the first Native American radio station to broadcast in an urban market, Koahnic Broadcast Corporation produces and distributes programs focused on sharing Native voices with communities around the globe. Koahnic’s programs are aired on over 300 public and tribal stations.

National Programs National Native News is the only daily newscast from a Native American perspective, broadcasting Monday through Friday on 308 radio stations and translators throughout the United States and Canada. According to the Radio Research Consortium, 1.177 million listeners tune in to National Native News each week. In 2012, National Native News celebrates its 25th Anniversary. This service is for everyone interested in Native American news, culture, music, events, and life. NV1 enables Native people, especially those who do not have access to the many village-based Native owned and operated stations, to stay connected. Many Native stations and independent radio producers contribute Native-oriented programs to NV1 for inclusion in the NV1 program service.
