After 22 years of successful business operations in Santa Rosa, California, Marmot has moved into its new worldwide headquarters, an expansive new facility located in Rohnert Park, California (USA). The relocation to Rohnert Park, which took place May 2012, represents a milestone for Marmot. In addition to this long-awaited expansion, Marmot’s relocation reflects the accelerated growth of the brand since it was acquired by the Jarden Corporation in 2008. Originally founded in 1974 in Grand Junction, Colorado, Marmot moved to Santa Rosa in 1990 with just 20 employees. Today, the company has more than 115 employees at the new Rohnert Park facility and plans to hire at least 40 more over the next three years. The contemporary, campus-style Rohnert Park headquarters – complete with ample office spaces, modern meeting rooms, three exceptional showrooms, a stylish cafeteria, workout facilities and a one acre park – can easily accommodate for staff increases and will enhance Marmot’s business capabilities in the years ahead. Mark Martin, President of Marmot Mountain LLC and Jarden Technical Apparel explains: “This relocation is a landmark event for our company and our employees. We’ve more than doubled our square footage and we’re poised for many more years of product innovation, design creativity and brand evolution on a global scale.” Marmot, which celebrates its 40th birthday next year, continues to lead the outdoor industry with the highest performance outdoor products, which are sold in more than 50 countries worldwide. Martin adds: “That global success ties directly back to our product line. We have a refined, universal design language, and an advanced color offering that resonates with our customers throughout Europe, Asia and North America.” Marmot’s new Rohnert Park location is a made up of a spacious 43,000-squarefoot main office facility where employees can move about easily and meet efficiently and a 15,000-square-foot manufacturing space, where it will continue to fill its highest-end sleeping bags with premier down – a company tradition since it started constructing down bags in Grand Junction, Colorado, in the 1970’s. “This transition is an investment into our future growth potential, but it’s also a commitment to our employees and their professional well-being,” adds Martin. “More than ever before, we’re equipped with a remarkable staff and an amazing facility – ready to take Marmot to the next level.”
