The game of chess has an ancient history. They were born in India in the 6th century, but the game as we know it today and its rules took shape in medieval Europe. A complex and compelling game that over time has gripped not only the minds of the world’s leading players, but also well-known designers. The Bauhaus chess set by Josef Hartwig is famous. Space chess is a version inspired by space and science fiction, with mutant pawns, unicorns, planets and rockets.
Using a single filament 3D printer my group had to choose a shape that didn’t require soluble thread
We therefore opted for a shape that allowed us to print the object with a tree support, although we initially hoped to be able to print completely without supports thanks to the central column
Despite its simplicity, the object is pleasing to the eye and interesting from every point of view as it has four different types of holes
Inspired by André Dubreull’s “Spine” chair (1986), “Elfica” offers an organic twist and moves away from the industriality of cold metal. In fact, to support the seat it uses supports that resemble the branches of a tree or the legs of an insect. The chair is enriched with a padded and soft seat covered with a green weave. The entire structure is made of wood.
“DIWANO” is a sofa that combines two styles, modern and luxurious, with vintage and classy. Suitable for all living rooms, it is a sofa of impressive dimensions suitable for large families or parties with friends. Thanks to its shape it is comfortable to lie down, but with your torso raised; comfortable for watching television, reading a book or simply for a nap after lunch.
