d4vd, born David Burke, emerged as a visionary artist only one year after he began writing and recording heart-piercing tracks alone in his sister’s closet in Houston, Texas. d4vd developed his eclectic taste in rap and indie music from internet wormholes and fan-made Fortnite videos on YouTube, which he also started creating as a homeschooled teenager. As an avid player who has amassed over fifty thousand subscribers on his gaming channel, he noticed that the songs in his game montages were getting copyright strikes, and his mother suggested that he write original music as a solution. This motivated d4vd to start recording his own tracks after discovering an easy-to-use music-making app called BandLab. He’s released a smattering of singles touching everything from indie-alternative to pop to R&B, and the 18-year-old scored a breakout hit in the summer of 2022 with the now RIAA Multi-Platinum certified melancholic indie rock song “Romantic Homicide.” Recorded entirely on an iPhone, the track reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and led to d4vd signing to Darkroom/Interscope before graduating high school. His slow-building beachy ballad, “Here With Me” followed, breaking into the Billboard Hot 100 in January 2023 and now RIAA Platinum Certified. d4vd’s debut EP Petals To Thorns established him as a genre-defying newcomer and one of the best new emerging acts, corroborated by his recent Billboard 21 Under 21 and Variety Young Hollywood honors. His intuitive command of lyricism stems from his years of scribbling raps and poems in his journal since childhood and his versatile interests shine in his music, drawing primarily from manga and anime. Following on the heels of his spring headline ‘The Root of it All’ debut tour, which sold out immediately upon going on sale, and a successful run of sold-out European tour dates, d4vd brought his ‘Petals To Thorns’ tour to larger stages in the US than ever before. Amid his European run, d4vd put on a show-stopping performance at the Valentino Men’s SS24 Fashion Week show in Milan. He recently followed up his debut EP with The Lost Petals EP – a collection of five songs that fit into the world of Petals To Thorns and serve as a continuation of that project before d4vd moves into his next phase of music. d4vd recently joined R&B powerhouse SZA on the second leg of her North American S.O.S. tour.
A highly accomplished musician, songwriter, producer and lead member of famed band Semisonic, Dan Wilson is a three-time GRAMMY winner in major categories. Recently, Wilson won Best Country Song for Chris Stapleton’s number one country single “White Horse.” He has also been awarded Grammys for Song of the Year for co-writing The Chicks’ “Not Ready to Make Nice,” and Album of the Year for Adele’s 21, which featured three of his co-writes including “Someone Like You” which he also produced. Earlier this year, he received his first-ever Oscar nomination for Original Song for co-writing and co-producing Jon Batiste’s “It Never Went Away” from the Netflix documentary American Symphony.
Known as the “songwriters’ songwriter,” Wilson has written with a diverse range of artists across genres – living legends, pop stars, country artists, indie rockers and beyond. Among his collaborators: Adele, Taylor Swift, Mitski, Pink, Jon Batiste, Halsey, Dierks Bentley, Laufey, Chris Stapleton, Joy Oladokun, Claud, Leon Bridges, Celine Dion, My Morning Jacket, Carole King, John Legend, Phantogram, and many more.
Johnny Shepherd and Rocco DeLuca are an electrifying musical duo who first crossed paths in New York City while playing with The Hallelujah Train. Since then, they have been inseparable musical collaborators, often seen working and creating together. This powerful synergy reached a new height with the release of the self-titled debut album by Mighty Glad. Their performances are known for their uplifting and ethereal energy, captivating audiences wherever they go.
Robbie Robertson was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1943, with roots in both the Mohawk community at the Six Nations Reserve and the Jewish enclave of the city’s downtown. At age 10, he began playing guitar, and in 1960 at the age of 16, he joined drummer Levon Helm in the Hawks, the backing band for rockabilly star Ronnie Hawkins. He received his rock ‘n’ roll education in the Hawks’ line-up, which along with Helm would eventually include future Bandmates Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson. Robertson’s unique guitar style on songs such as “Who Do You Love” ushered in an era of classic bluesy rock and influenced numerous musicians.
The Hawks went on to play with Bob Dylan on his legendary “Going Electric” tours in 1965 and 1966. Moving to Woodstock in 1967, Robertson and his bandmates recorded the seminal “basement tapes” with Dylan before changing their name to The Band and releasing the groundbreaking Music from Big Pink album in 1968. The album marked a watershed in rock history, boasting the Robertson-penned classic “The Weight.”
In 1969, The Band performed at the Woodstock Festival before releasing an eponymous album that included the Robertson-composed “Up On Cripple Creek” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down.” The Band became the first North American rock group to appear on the cover of Time magazine.
Stage Fright (1970) with the title track and “The Shape I’m In,” Cahoots (1971) with “Life Is A Carnival,” and the double live set Rock Of Ages (1972) followed. In 1973, The Band performed before the largest rock concert audience in history (an estimated 650,000 people) at the Watkins Glen Festival in New York.
1974 saw the release of the retro collection Moondog Matinee and, after backing Dylan on Planet Waves, The Band co-headlined and backed him on a much-heralded reunion tour which resulted in Before The Flood. The Band’s 1975 album Northern Lights - Southern Cross, which included “Ophelia” and “It Makes No Difference,” followed.
In 1976, The Band bade farewell to live performing with the gala “The Last Waltz” concert on Thanksgiving night. Guests such as Dylan, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Van Morrison, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell joined the group at San Francisco’s Winterland. The concert film, directed by Martin Scorsese, and a three-record box set, were released in 1978 and are considered landmarks in each medium.
Islands (1977) was The Band’s seventh and final studio album with Robertson. He then produced Neil Diamond’s Love At The Greek live album (the previous year he helmed Diamond’s Beautiful Noise).
Long fascinated with film, Robertson co-wrote, produced, appeared in and composed the source music for Carny (1979), starring Gary Busey and Jodie Foster. One of the first rock ‘n’ rollers to seriously engage movie music, he followed up by creating and producing music for Scorsese’s Raging Bull (1980), King Of Comedy (1983), and The Color Of Money (1986), which included “It’s In The Way That You Use It,” co-written with Eric Clapton. For Taylor Hackford’s film saluting Chuck Berry, Hail, Hail Rock & Roll, he was enlisted as creative consultant.
Robertson made his solo album debut in 1987 with his self-titled album, featuring guests Peter Gabriel and U2 and the track “Somewhere Down The Crazy River.” Certified gold and Grammy®nominated, the album swept up several Juno Awards in his native Canada. When The Band was inducted into the Juno Hall Of Fame, he reunited with the group for an awards ceremony performance.
His second solo album, Storyville (1991), featured some of New Orleans’ most respected musicians and earned two more Grammy nominations. Meanwhile, his “Broken Arrow” became a major hit for Rod Stewart.
In 1994, The Band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and performed live at the ceremony. On the film front, Robertson scored Barry Levinson’s Jimmy Hollywood and acted in The Crossing Guard, starring Jack Nicholson and directed by Sean Penn. On record, Music For “The Native Americans” from Robbie Robertson & The Red Road Ensemble contained songs from the soundtrack to the highly regarded television miniseries.
Robertson continued his multimedia activities in 1995 by producing the soundtrack album for Scorsese’s Casino and being the subject of Going Home, a Disney Channel documentary highlighting his revisiting the moments, people and places of his musical past.
In 1997, executive soundtrack producer Robertson heard a demo of “Change The World” and sent it to Clapton as a suggestion for Phenomenon, starring John Travolta. He enlisted Babyface to produce and “Change The World” won Grammys for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Robertson also received a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Songwriters.
Released in 1998, his fourth solo album, the Grammy-nominated Contact From The Underworld Of Redboy, inspired the onehour PBS documentary Robbie Robertson: Making A Noise. The documentary took viewers along on his journey back to the Six Nations Reservation, where his mother was born and raised and where Robertson spent his summers first learning to play guitar.
Robertson has since scored, consulted for, produced or supervised music for numerous films, including American Beauty (1999), Any Given Sunday (1999) Gangs Of New York (2002), The Departed (2006), Shutter Island (2009), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and Silence (2016).
In 2008, The Band was honored with the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award. In Canada, Robertson has won several Juno Awards, been honored twice by Canada’s Walk of Fame, been inducted into the Canadian Songwriters’ Hall of Fame, made an Officer of the Order of Canada, and received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
For his fifth solo album, 2011’s How To Become Clairvoyant, Robertson again collaborated extensively with Eric Clapton, as well as keyboards great Steve Winwood and a new generation of guitar heroes, from Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave) and Robert Randolph to Nine Inch Nails innovator Trent Reznor. Robertson also enlisted an array of unique vocalists to accompany him, including Clapton, Angela McCluskey, Dana Glover, Rocco DeLuca, and Taylor Goldsmith.
In 2016, Robertson penned the New York Times bestselling memoir, Testimony. A documentary feature film based on the book and titled Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson And The Band, premiered at 2019’s Toronto International Film Festival and is streaming on Hulu. The film blends rare archival footage, animation, and the participation of many of Robertson’s friends and collaborators, including Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Martin Scorsese, Taj Mahal, Peter Gabriel,David Geffen, and Ronnie Hawkins, among others.
In 2019, Robertson released his sixth solo studio album Sinematic. His work with Scorsese continued with his original score for The Irishman.
Before his death on August 9th, 2023, Robertson had written his follow-up memoir to Testimony that will be released in Fall 2024, and he had composed the score for Scorsese’s Killers of The Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Lily Gladstone, and Robert DeNiro. He has received a posthumous Oscar Nomination for his score.

Thank you, GUILD OF MUSIC SUPERVISORS , for your recognition.
“Ask Allan Mason anything about popular music,” says director Barry Levinson, “and if he can’t tell you the answer immediately, he’ll have it for you in 30 minutes.” Allan’s groundbreaking work on Levinson’s 1987 film, Good Morning, Vietnam, reinvented the role of the modern Music Supervisor. The film’s soundtrack was certified platinum in the United States. It included Louis Armstrong’s “What a Wonderful World.” The song then charted at #32 in the US Top 40, twenty years after its original release.
Allan has worked with many filmmakers on over two dozen films, including Donnie Brasco, This Boy’s Life, and Benny & Joon. His long association with Barry Levinson produced standouts such as Rain Main, Sleepers and many more. Allan’s obsession with music inspired the character of Shrevie, played by Daniel Stern, in Levinson’s 1982 breakout film, Diner, set in Baltimore.
The choice of songs has had a lasting impact. Allan featured “At Last” by Etta James in Rain Man, and the song has gone on to become a standard, appearing over 60 times in film and television. The Belle Stars had their only US hit after their cover of “ lko lko” also appeared in Rain Man. The Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” became a hit in the US after it was included in Benny & Joon. A cover of the song recently appeared in a 2021 Super Bowl Commercial.
“I think I was put on planet earth to share the music,” Allan says of his life’s work. The obsession with music began in his father’s jukebox business in Baltimore. Around the age of eight, he began collecting 78s and 45s from his father’s jukeboxes. “As soon as each one came off the machine it would go directly into my collection,” a collection that would eventually exceed 100,000 LPs and 45s. He had a knack for picking hits from an early age. He left Baltimore for Berkeley in 1969, and his desire and ability to share his knowledge established him in the local music scene, which quickly led to A&R positions at Janus Records and A&M Records, and a move to Los Angeles. He was instrumental in the careers of Cat Stevens and Al Stewart and championed Sandy Denny and Fairport Convention, among many other artists and bands. After leaving the music industry, Allan pioneered the role of the modern Music Supervisor in the 1980s. He continues to share the music with the same enthusiasm he had as a kid in Baltimore. His most recent film project is Levinson’s feature The Survivor, to be released in 2021.
