Welcome To Hodges University Summer 2012 It is every student’s responsibility to determine a manner in which to pay for his or her tuition. The Financial Aid Department can assist students in understanding the available federal and state loans and grants; however, scholarship applications should be an important part of the financial solution. Scholarships can reduce debt. The Hodges University Scholarship Committee offers scholarship workshops to assist students with scholarship process. These workshops provide valuable information and great tips on how to get scholarships. Best of all, these workshops are FREE! In addition to federal loans, you may be eligible for alternative/private loans. Several lending institutions and nonprofit organizations offer long term, low interest educational loans to students. You may also obtain loan, grant, or scholarship funds through state and independent sources. The Financial Aid Office is available to advise students. For personal advisement concerning the scholarship process, contact the Office of Student Development. Keys to Tapping into Scholarships Apply for as many awards as you qualify for. Even small awards can be helpful in covering costs, such as books. Pay close attention to deadlines. Missing a deadline is a sure way to become disqualified. Look for scholarships offered by a variety of sources, including companies, unions, foundations, community organizations, churches, and more. Understand the conditions of an award, such as maintaining a specific GPA or participating on an athletic team. Watch for scholarship scams. You should never pay for scholarship advice or information. If you receive a scholarship, be sure to write a thank-you note to the organization. You may want to reaply for the scholarship in the future so it is important to make a good impression.

Human Resource Management Association of Southwest Florida The Academic scholarships, in the amount of $1,000.00 each, will be awarded to students in the pursuit of an educational program leading to a degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration with a related Human Resources or Management major. Applicants for the Academic scholarship must be members of the Human Resource Management Association. One scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate, and one scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student. Academic scholarship applications must be submitted no later than September 30th . The Tylenol Scholarship The TYLENOL® Future Care Scholarship is awarded based on leadership qualities, academic excellence and community involvement. Eligible students must be pursuing healthcare-related degrees 40 students will receive $5,000 or $10,000 in scholarship funds Applications must be received by May 31, 2012 Winners will be selected in July and scholarships will be delivered by August 31, 2012 Eligible students must have completed at least one year of undergraduate or graduate course study by the Spring of 2012 at an accredited two or four year college, university or vocational-technical school.

The Women’s Network of Collier County The WNOCC Scholarship Award is a non-transferable tuition aid scholarship between $1,000 and $2,500 for female students currently enrolled at Hodges University in the Johnson School of Business, Nichols School of Professional Studies, the Fisher School or Technology, or the School of Allied Health. Applicants must work in or be a resident of Collier County and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Please submit a scholarship package that includes a transcript, a letter of character reference, contact information, and a typed essay of at least 500 words (maximum of 2500 words) describing “How I will benefit the business community through my education” and should also address demonstrated need. Project Management Institute Educational Scholarship PMI Educational Foundation’s Scholarships and Awards Program supports development of the best and brightest future project management professionals and other professionals worldwide through learning opportunities. The program is open to students at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels who are studying project management and related fields are eligible for our college and university scholarships. The Sallie Mae Fund sponsors several scholarship programs and supports hundreds of college scholarships. All of our programs are based on financial need, as The Fund seeks to bridge the dollar gap when no one else can. The Southwest Florida Community Foundation established its first scholarship fund in 1980 and now administers 61 individual scholarship funds, and awards over $400,000 in scholarships annually to students in Southwest Florida. Visit www.floridacommunity.com for more information

The UPPER DIVISION SCHOLARSHIP In order to encourage the pursuit and completion of a baccalaureate program at Hodges University, we extend a special Upper Division Scholarship for students who have completed two years of education which has culminated in the awarding of an associate degree from Hodges University. This is a tuition scholarship available in the form of a total award of $500.00 to be used before the student has achieved 90 semester hours of credit toward a Hodges University bachelor’s degree. The Upper Division Scholarship is available only for full-time students enrolled for at least 12 credit hours per term. The student must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA in order to apply. There is no limit to the number of Upper Division Scholarships offered. It is the responsibility of the student to complete an application form in order to receive this scholarship. It is not automatically applied to qualifying individuals. (SEPARATE FORM is available at the Financial Aid Office.)
