Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion Lineup

The award-winning Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival in Historic Downtown Bristol, Tennessee- Virginia celebrates the twin cities’ history as the birthplace of country music with more than 100 acts of live music on 12 indoor and outdoor stages along State Street, the site of the legendary 1927 Bristol Sessions. See the schedule and the festival lineup.

From Americana, country and traditional bluegrass to indie-rock, Bristol Rhythm features a wide range of roots genres performed by some of the most celebrated international, national, and regional artists performing today.

The 2025 Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion is scheduled for September 19-21, 2025. Established in 2001, the annual Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival celebrates Bristol, Tennessee-Virginia’s music heritage as the birthplace of country music. Showcasing the very

best in Appalachian roots music and beyond, the event honors the legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions and their far-reaching influence on the soundtrack of today.

Split down the middle by the state lines of Tennessee and Virginia, Bristol is officially designated by U.S. Congress as the “birthplace of country music,” due to the lasting impact of the legendary 1927 Bristol Sessions recordings. Overtaking several blocks of downtown below the iconic “Bristol Sign,” the festival showcases the roots and far-reaching branches of those sessions on more than a dozen stages over the course of the three-day weekend.

Festival goers are encouraged to visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution, located just steps away from festival gates.
