Carolus, 60 years Merlin Dean Carolus and Marilyn Ruth Craig were married Oct. 23, 1954. They will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a small party with family and friends.

They raised four children, three boys and one girl. #1 son lives in Texas; #2 son lives in Colorado; daughter lives in Colorado; and #3 son lives in Mason City. They have 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. The couple now make their home in Rio Grand Valley, Texas.

Roy and Jane (Williams) Miller were married Oct. 24, 1964, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage.

They have 3 children; Mindy (Jim) Henderson, Mike (Dawn) Miller and Marty (Angie) Miller. They have 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

They will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with an informal open house from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Cedar River Complex, 809 Sawyer Drive (West Door).

Crooks, 50 years Lawrence Crooks of Dougherty and Judith Jackson of Bristow were married on Oct. 17, 1964, at the United Methodist Church in Bristow.

The couple will celebrate their 50th anniversary with an open house from 2-5 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2014, at the Senior Citizens Center in Rockwell.

The couple’s children and their spouses are Lori (Brian) Ayers of Aredale, Carole (David) Clagget of Eagle Grove, and Ryan (Cathy) Crooks of Latimer.

They are the grandparents of Kait and Arren Overland of Mason City, Rachel and Michael Clagget of Eagle Grove, and Ava and Nicholas Crooks of Latimer.

Brandon Pyle, a service technician at Mason City Ford, has been certified as a Ford Master Service Technician. He has completed more than 2,000 hours of training in Chicago, Des Moines and Minneapolis.

His Senior Master awards include Masters Trophy, Senior Masters Plaque, Senior Masters Medallion, Senior Masters Magnet and Senior Masters Lapel Pin. He is one of 298 service technicians in this region to complete the program. The region includes Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

He has also been awarded Chassis Master designation, one of 477 in this region; Drivetrain Master, one of 317 in the region; and Engine Master, one of 446 in the region.

From Rockford, his parents are Gary and Darla. He started at Mason City Ford in September 2009. Pyle is a graduate of Universal Technical Institute, Chicago.

Craig Schmidt and Kerrill Balek were married on Aug. 2, 2014, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Libertyville, Illinois.

Craig is the son of Arthur and Sally Schmidt of Mountain, Wisconsin.

Kerrill is the daughter of Terrill and Mary Balek of Mason City, Iowa.

Craig and Kerrill live in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

Dustin is the son of Jon and Rhonda Sult of Marble Rock. He is an Iowa State University graduate and will receive his MBA from the University of Iowa next spring. He is employed as an engineer at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.

The couple plans to be married Nov. 1, 2014.
