Moffett, Black CLEAR LAKE — Amanda Moffett and Dan Black were united in marriage on June 27, 2015, at PM Park in Clear Lake, Iowa, by Victoria Hansen.

Amanda is the daughter of William John Moffett of Clear Lake, Iowa, and Kimberley Faye Moffett of Mason City, Iowa. Amanda’s grandparents are Dean and Virginia Moffett of Clear Lake, Iowa.

Dan’s parents are Chet and Ellen Black of Fenton, Iowa. Dan’s grandparents are Monte and Sylvia Black of Washington state.

Matron of honor was Alicia Martinez and Maid of honor was Emily Rosendahl. Amanda’s other attendants were Jill Paul, Madison Martin, and Makayla Martin.

Best men were Glen Schuller and Jesse Black. Dan’s other attendants were William Moffett, Mike Murray, Spencer Hanson, and Josh Rusch.

The flower girl was Janessa Moffett. The ring bearer was Pierce Hanson. Personal attendant was Sheila Lawler.

A reception was held at PM Park, Clear Lake, Iowa.

Amanda graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School in 2005. Amanda is employed by Dealerbuilt of Mason City, Iowa. Dan graduated from Sentral High School in 2005. Dan is employed by Poet of Hanlontown, Iowa. The couple honeymooned at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

They will reside in Nora Springs, Iowa.

AWARD & ACHIEVEMENT Wartburg College honors Linda Ferjak WAVERLY — Wartburg College recognized two outstanding high school teachers and alumni at its commencement Sunday, May 24.

Linda Ferjak, of Forest City, director of vocal music in grades 7-12 at Bishop Garrigan Schools in Algona and former director of vocal music at Forest City High School, is a 1972 graduate. Cory McDonald, who teaches U.S. government, civics, world history and contemporary affairs at New Hampton High School, graduated in 1996. They were honored during ceremonies beginning at the Hoover Fieldhouse and Track in the WartburgWaverly Sports and Wellness Center.

Members of Wartburg’s Class of 2015 nominated high school teachers who significantly influenced their education. The teachers will receive $500 each, and a $500 scholarship will be available to a rising senior who attends Wartburg from the recipient’s high school.

Linda Ferjak of Forest City was honored at Wartburg College commencement ceremonies May 24. Pictured from left are Wartburg graduate Rebecca Jennings, Ferjak and Wartburg professor Melanie Harms. Jennings, of Algona, and Harms, formerly of Forest City, are both former students of Ferjak. educator committed to living out the Wartburg College mission.

“Mrs. Ferjak not only influenced me through the music she provided and helped me develop lifelong memories that I will cherish forever, but she encouraged me to develop my own song of life,” Jennings wrote. “She is the reason I am here at Wartburg.”

Ferjak has helped produce 28 high school musicals and several madrigal productions, and her choirs have earned multiple Division I ratings in both large and small group contests. She has also served as guest conductor for several choirs and is director of the North Iowa Choral Society, an auditioned adult ensemble.

Emily Hackman named to Grinnell College Dean’s List GRINNELL — Emily Hackman, of Mason City, was named to the Grinnell College Dean’s List for the 2015 spring semester. To qualify, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

Dalton Streblow named NIBE Scholarship recipient MASON CITY — Dalton Streblow, a 2015 graduate of West Fork High School, was named the recipient of the 2015 North Iowa Builders Exchange (NIBE) Scholarship Award by the board of directors.

Streblow plans to attend North Iowa Area Community College’s (NIACC) Building Trade program. He is currently employed with Janssen Construction.

He maintained a 3.30 grade point average and was listed on the honor roll all eight semesters during his high school career. In his spare time, Streblow enjoys hunting, camping, and riding snowmobiles and ATVs.

The groom-to-be is a 2004 graduate of SheffieldChapin/Meservey-Thornton High School. Trent is a 2008 graduate from Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa, where he attained his B.S. in Civil Engineering.

Trent works for Kiewit Construction as a Superintendent in Dallas, Texas.

FOREST CITY — Thomas Charles Lillquist and Sandra Jean (Sibbers) Lillquist of Forest City, Iowa, were married July 24, 1965, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Austin, Minnesota.

The couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Bear Creek Golf Course in Forest City, Iowa.

The couple’s children and their spouses are Steven and Cari Lillquist of Forest City, Iowa, and Michael and Rhiannon Lillquist of Mason City. They have five grandchildren.

MASON CITY — Willy Green and Pam (Ketchum) Green of Mason City, Iowa, were married July 17, 1965, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mason City, Iowa.

The couple will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family weekend spent with their children and grandchildren.

The couple’s children and their spouses are Amy (Chris) Palmer of Clear Lake, Iowa, Mindy (Tom) Gerleman of Mason City, Iowa, and Matt (Cara) Green of Pekin, Illinois. They have 10 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchild.

MASON CITY — Alan Haubrich and Sandra (Allison) Haubrich of Mason City, Iowa, were married July 7, 1990, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City, Iowa.

The couple will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.

Together the couple’s children and their spouses are Jeremy and Brenda Haubrich of Mason City, Iowa, Anthony Haubrich of Marshalltown, Iowa, Justin Haubrich of Mason City, Iowa. They have three grandchildren.

Yezek, 65 years July is a special month for Vern (Buster) and Floris Yezek of Many, Iowa.

Floris will be 85 on July 13 and the couple’s 65th wedding anniversary is on July 27.

The couple has two children, David (Janet) Yezek of Glenwood, Iowa, and Kathy (Dennis) Meyer of Northwood, Iowa. They have six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
