Miss Kossuth-Winnebago award winners

Anderson, 40 years

BURT — The Miss Kossuth-Winnebago Scholarship Program crowned its 2012 titleholders, Sept. 1, at the Burt Activity Complex. Hailey Huey, 20, daughter of Dustin and Shannon Huey, of Clear Lake, was crowned Miss Kossuth-Winnebago 2012. Huey received a $750 scholarship from the Miss Kossuth-Winnebago Scholarship Board and a $50 Scholarship from Cliff and Phyllis VanBerkum. She is a junior at the University of Iowa. Isabella Clabaugh, 9, daughter of Casey and Amy Clabaugh, of Clear Lake, was crowned Li’l Miss KossuthWinnebago. She is a fourth grader at Clear Creek Elementary School. Other award recipients at the pageant were: Miss Contestants: Hailey Huey — Overall Talent, Overall Physical Fitness in Swimsuit and Miss/Teen Photogenic Winner; Heidi Nyhus, of Forest City: People’s Choice. The Miss Kossuth-Winnebago Scholarship Program is a preliminary pageant to Miss Iowa, Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageants. To qualify, contestants must live, work, or attend school in Iowa, and be between the ages of 6 and 24.

JOICE — Paul Anderson and Diane (Brunsvold) Anderson of Joice were married Sept. 9, 1972, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mason City.
