GROW INTERNSHIP

"GHI is truly integrated into the community. The Rwandan staff design the curriculums that they implement, and it is incredible to be around a group of individuals who have so much respect for each other, and for the people they serve. GHI's work is about partnership, compassion and self-sufficiency, and to see such work delivered by individuals who contribute so much of themselves is inspiring.” – Kat James, c/o 2014.5

JUNE 2012 – JULY 2012

WORK DESCRIPTION: The interns are gaining knowledge about how GHI has grown so far, as well as learning more about their plans for the future. The students are working on a variety of projects related to communications and fundraising. They are also helping to develop the health curriculum, and are working on professional development with staff members. Furthermore, they are gathering information and knowledge to bring back to the chapter, and are brainstorming ways to further the partnership.

Through Grassroots Onsite Work (GROW) internships, students build capacity of their partner organization, engage in mutual learning, and ensure long-term stability of their partnership.
