Reconnectingthroughfun:ThebirthandgrowthoftheICSFunCommittee
DuringthechallengingtimesofCovid,theneedto reconnectwithourcolleaguesandmaintainasense ofcommunitybecamemoreimportantthanever.In response,EUIntercompanyandLogistics Performancemanagementlooktoestablisha committeeaimedatbringingpeopletogether,even whenwewerephysicallyapart.
Oneofourcolleaguestooktheinitiativeandinvited threeotherbravevolunteerswhowerepassionate aboutliftingspirits.Thus,theFunCommitteewas born,transitioningfromamereprojecttoavibrant reality.
Theteamorganizedtriviasessions,onlinegames,and virtualcoffeebreaks,offeringmuch-neededrelief andasenseofnormalcyduringuncertaintimes.One ofthefirstandmostmemorableeventswasthe “CustomHatParty”heldduringChristmas2021.This eventwasahugesuccess;asimpledresscode turnedtheonlineactivityintopurefunanda cherishedmemory.
TheFunCommitteehasevolvedintoastrongteam, encouragingcamaraderie,theteampropose activitiesthatcatertodiversemulticulturalinterests, suchasbi-monthlymeetupsandoff-siteeventslike bowlingorpaintballnights.Thesebigeventsarenot limitedtoICSandZEDco-workers;everyoneat Zoetisiswelcome.AprimeexampleistheICS SummerBBQheldattheZaventemoffice.Thisevent ismorethanjustameal;it’sacelebrationofthe Zoetiscommunity,highlightingtheimportanceof colleagueconnectionsandthejoyofcoming together.Thelasteditionsaw50colleaguesin attendance.
Strengtheningourcompanyculturewouldn’tbe possiblewithoutthecommitmentofallICSFUN coordinatorswhohavebeenpartoftheteamoverthe years.

Archi’sheartwarmingjourney:FromBulgariatohisforeverhome
MeetArchi,aspiritedmixedbreed whohascapturedtheheartsof everyonehemeets!Rescuedfrom thehillsofBulgaria,Archi’sjourney tofindingalovinghomeisnothing shortofinspiring.
Afterbeingrescued,Archiwas transportedinavanfromBulgaria toBelgium,wherehewouldsoon findhisforeverfamily.Whenthe rescueteamdiscoveredhim,he wasoneofmanydogsinneedof careandcompassion.
WithhisstrikingblendofBorder CollieandSetter,Archiquickly becameafavoriteamongthe volunteers.Theyshoweredhim withlove,providingasafehaven wherehecouldplay,heal,and prepareforhisnewlife.
OnceinBelgium,thedayfinally camewhenyouwalkedthroughthe doorsoftheshelter.Itwasloveat firstsight!Archiboundedover,tail waggingandeyessparklingwithjoy. Inthatmoment,youbothknewyou weremeanttobetogether.
Now,Archienjoyslongwalkswith you,exploringparksandtrails,his excitementpalpableashe discoverstheworldaroundhim. Whetherhe’schasingbutterfliesor splashinginpuddles,hisplayful spiritbringsendlessjoytoyour days.

I’mthrilledtosharethatwe’verecentlyadoptedawonderfuldogfrom Turkey,andourheartsarefullaswepreparetowelcomeherintoour homeinBelgium.ManyofyoumightknowthatTurkeyimplementeda newlawtoaddressthestraydogpopulation.Unfortunately,this legislationhasledtoovercrowdedshelters,resultinginthetragic euthanasiaofmanyhealthydogsduetoalackofspaceandresources. It’saharshrealityforcountlessanimalsastheyfacesuchuncertainty.
AdoptingfromTurkeyissimplerthanyoumightthinkasorganizations arededicatedtohelpingpetsfindlovinghomes.Ifyou’reconsidering adoptingapetorwanttolearnmoreabouttheprocess,feelfreeto reachout.I’dbedelightedtoshareourexperienceandassistinanywayI can.Together,let’sraiseawarenessandmakeapositiveimpactonthe livesoftheseanimals.Wecansharetheirstories,donatefunds,foster,or evenbetter,adoptone.Whilewemightnotbeabletochangetheworld, wecancertainlychangetheworldforsome.
In2020,myfiancéMichaelandIwebeganexploringadoptionoptions,but ourplanswereputonholdduetoCovid.Duringthepandemic,streetand shelterdogswereinurgentneed,thuswedecideditwastheperfecttimeto startourjourney.WecontactedanNGOinBrusselsthatconnecteduswith anassociationbringingstreetdogsfromItalyandwithintwoweeks,wewere invitedforavisit.
Onthedayofourvisit,wewereboththrilledandanxious,hopingtooffera hometooneofthesebeautifulsouls.Whilewaitinginthegarden,avolunteer introducedustoabeautiful,medium-sizedwhitedognamedAlga.She immediatelyapproachedMichael,wagginghertail,andjumpingaround excitedly.Evenafterthreeandahalfyears,shestilldoesthis.
AdoptingAlganotonlytransformedherlifebutalsoenrichedoursin countlessways.Shebringsjoyandlaughtertoourdailylives.Algaisthe sweetestdog,alwayssmiling,andshehasbecomeanintegralpartofour family;todaywecan’timaginelifewithouther.
Currently,sheltersarefilledwithamazingpetslikeAlga.Don’tthinktwiceand giveoneofthesepreciousanimalsasecondchance—itwillbringimmensejoy andfulfilmenttoyourlife.Iassureyou;youwon’tregretit.Algahasshownus thatloveandcompassioncantrulytransformlives,includingours.Iwill alwaysbegratefulthatmyprincesschoseusasherforeverfamily.
