Portrait of India by Team Culturama
Chandra or the Moon is seen in this painting with his two hands holding one lotus each, riding upon a chariot drawn by ten horses. According to Hindu mythology, he rides the chariot across the sky every night. The moon is also an important part of Hinduism as the Hindu calendar is a lunar calendar based on the waxing and waning of the moon. Painting by Sri S. Rajam.
