RICS Assessment of Professional Competency Application Checklist: The checklist we have provided below summarises the submission requirements for the APC. Employment history Refer to each position where you have earned experience that is related to your pathway and evaluation.

Professional body details Give the professional body membership, grade and date of qualification for all relevant and active professional bodies.

Summary of Experience – Mandatory competencies Don’t cross the limit of the maximum word count of 1500 words.

You have checked the competencies and are submitting statements that meet the technical requirements at the correct levels for your chosen pathway.

Case Study The word limit is a maximum of 3000 words At the point of submission, this is based on a project you have worked on in the last 30 months.

You have identified the technical competencies within your pathway within your selected pathway.

You have read and adhered to the confidentiality statement.

CPD If you are an APC Structured training candidate - you have given a minimum of 48 hours of CPD for each year of structured training.

If you are an APC Prelim candidate - you have at least 48 hours of CPD in the last 12 months.

At least 50% of your CPD is formal CPD. Having provided you with the checklist of the RICS assessment, we advise you to hire an expert in the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) to apply systematically. As a non-professional, you can’t systematically do everything.
